The successful candidate will develop and drive a marketing and communication strategy with targeted actions tailored to stakeholder audiences and their distinct information needs and expectations.
The Director, who will report to Fortitude Re group General Counsel, will work closely with the Leadership Team to establish best-in-class communication practices to engage key internal and external business stakeholders and potential clients, including insurers and brokers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Create and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications strategic plan that aligns with and supports the business strategy.
• Craft messaging that clearly articulates the value proposition and priorities, and helps energize and engage target audiences.
• Work closely with the Leadership Team to prioritize and coordinate all messaging across the business.
• Work with the extended Corporate Communications team to amplify messaging, as appropriate.
• Identify and/or assess external public speaking and media opportunities to reinforce strategic priorities.
• Assess and select the appropriate communication channels and tactics for the audience and the message: Email, the intranet, digital campaigns, marketing collaterals, webcasts, town hall meetings, podcasts, video and digital signage.
• Create and manage measurement systems to track communications effectiveness, and adapt plans and tactics as needed.
• Act as a strategic communications advisor, partner and coach to the Leadership Team to help them meet their goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 7-10+ years of experience in internal or external communications strategy development and execution (experience in insurance, reinsurance or financial markets preferred).
• A proven track record in building relationships with senior leaders.
• Ability to identify communications gaps, needs and opportunities, and provide guidance and support.
• Superb writing skills and extensive experience producing copy and materials for various communication channels: Web, email, print, speeches and talking points, presentations, video, podcasts, digital displays, etc.
• An innovative and creative thinker who can get to the essence of the matter and communicate concisely and in an engaging manner.
• Business acumen, change management, project leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• A collaborative team player who will solicit and offer input, influence and support decision making.
• Bachelor's degree in communication, journalism, marketing, or related fields/extensive experience in one of these fields.
