Job Summary
Information Risk Management (IRM) applies knowledge and skill of business and technology risks through effective risk mitigation strategies designed to protect Allstate assets and customer and employee data. IRM is responsible for managing overall data protection strategies through the development, implementation and administration of Risk Governance programs that ensure and address compliance and provide security governance, related solutions to protect our stakeholders and their information.
The Information Risk Management (IRM) Consultant I supports the fundamental activities that ensure the protection of assets and customer and employee data by assisting with assessments of current protection programs, describing and resolving both realized and potential threats, and testing compliance control procedures. The IRM Consultant also assists with communicating with business and technology areas and stakeholders to ensure adherence to compliance standards and policies.
Key Responsibilities
• Assists with business impact analysis and/or risk assessment both inside and outside the company
• Contributes to the review of routine changes in company processes, standards and technology to ensure the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies
• Assists with isolating, describing and resolving both real and potential threats that affect Allstate's assets
• Executes the assessment of compliance and security programs
• Assists in developing and implementing systems and business control procedures, programs and plans
• Contributes to planning and monitoring systems and business exercising and testing for controls and compliance. Assists in exercising and testing the control procedures and strategies for different functional areas
• Contributes to developing, implementing and administering standards and procedures to secure and protect Allstate assets
• Participates in initiatives to ensure that controls and processes are operating effectively
• Assists in coordinating and communicating between the business and technology areas for general requests associated with standards and governing policies and procedures
• Assists in providing support to stakeholders on requirements for new and existing business / technology solutions to assure compliance to standards and governing policies and procedures
• Assists in the administration, maintenance, development and/or implementation of technology solutions, plans, policies and/or procedures in support of ensuring compliance to standards and governing policies and procedures

Risk Management- 1
Has training, direct exposure, light experience, or past experience in risk management.
Security Knowledge- 1
Has training, light experience and general knowledge of the security requirements and concepts of various platforms, including mainframe, networks, electronic data interchange, distributed, and personal computer. Demonstrates knowledge of security standards and procedures.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Experience
Education: College Degree or equivalent work experience
2-3 years of work experience in security or risk management, project management, or data protection
The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation, which includes a drug screen.
