Job Summary
Role: Senior Financial Analyst
The Opportunity
“Our team is looking for an enthusiastic professional; someone who is intrigued by the opportunity to evaluate the full finance picture of a long-time player in the analytic software space. We are building a Finance team full of people with strong business partnering abilities and analytical minds to support these new ventures. This is a highly visible role that will involve day to day interaction with upper management and helps to inform critical decisions at the strategic level," Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis.
What You'll Contribute
• Preparing and creating performance reports for management in addition to analyzing these reports for significant trends and issues.
• Preparation of weekly forecast files, including a strong understanding of top to bottom P&L forecast.
• Developing a thorough understanding of the Company's business dynamics (products, customers, pricing, etc).
• Developing a constructive working relationship with key people within the organization (Sales, Legal, Accounting).
• Assisting sales and management in the understanding of financial implications of business decisions, from trends, product pricing, and accounting conclusions.
• Support sales efforts to structure contracts in a way that optimizes revenue recognition and overall economic value.
• Revenue recognition support for pre and post contract signing between Accounting, Legal, Sales and the Business Unit.
• Developing annual plans (revenue/expense) for specific business groups with articulated assumptions.
• Ensuring reports and forecast information is accurate in various Oracle modules.
• Contributing to audit support and ad hoc corporate reporting.
What We're Seeking
• Bachelor’s degree required; Finance degree preferred.
• Corporate finance experience required, preferably in software/tech industry.
• Experience in revenue and/or expense forecasting.
• Experience partnering with business units to provide financial forecasting, budget analysis, and guidance on deal structuring.
• Good written and communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of personnel.
• Demonstrated ability to track and manage own progress on multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Experience with Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookups) and PowerPoint.
• Experience with programming/scripting languages preferred.
