The role:
JLL Research is currently seeking a college student to join our team for a one semester internship (+/-15 hours per week starting in January 2019). This position is located in downtown Charlottesville, VA near the University of Virginia. The intern’s primary responsibility will be to assist the Research team in enhancing our Mid-Atlantic office and industrial research platform. The role will help JLL in broadening our offering to the market and give you a strong analytical and organizational learning experience in the commercial real estate sector with a Fortune 500 company.
From an everyday perspective, the intern’s primary responsibility will include data collection and cleanup, analysis and interpretation, as well as contributing to new research products and deliverables. The ideal candidate will be detail- oriented, highly-organized, able to work well in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, demonstrate clear communication skills, and be motivated to learn – with a deep passion for and interest in Commercial Real Estate as a career.
Essential functions
• Conduct research on existing and proposed office and industrial inventory in the Mid-Atlantic
• Collect data, analyze findings, and update JLL’s internal database in coordination with the Research team and brokers with the end-goal of achieving complete data quality and accuracy
• Meet interim and long-term deadlines required to complete the data collection and analysis in a timely manner
• Contribute to special projects in support of business development and leasing initiatives
• Learn and understand the office market in the Mid-Atlantic
Qualifications
• Current undergraduate level students in their junior or senior year with a major or concentration in finance, real estate, statistics or a strong desire to work in the commercial real estate industry
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Corporate and business experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Innovation and strong problem-solving skills
• Strong financial and analytical skills
