JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:
Notifies or locates customers with delinquent accounts and attempts to secure payment by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Mails form letters to customers to encourage payment of delinquent accounts
• Confers with customer by telephone in attempt to determine reason for overdue payment, reviewing terms of credit contract with customer
• Notifies supervisor if customer fails to respond
• Records information about financial status of customer and status of collection efforts
• Grants extensions of credit
• Accepts personal responsibility for actions
• Confidentiality of customer information is maintained
• Successfully completes all Computer Based Training courses required on a yearly basis
• Accurately completes special assignments with little or no supervision
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
• Associate’s degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school; six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrates the ability to organize and use time effectively, prioritizes work flow and meets deadlines
ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
• Ability to operate a keyboard if required to perform the essential job functions
• Ability to read and interpret a document if required to perform the essential job functions
• Ability to travel if required to perform the essential job functions
• Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 20 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an “undue hardship” then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
