This internship will be shared approximately 50 / 50 with the Commercial Line of Business (Strategies & Specialty Lending) and the CTC William T. Kemper Foundation. This role offers an unique opportunity to learn about these two areas while also gaining exposure to senior leadership.
Responsibilities in the Foundation will include participating in the grant review process and attending site visits, researching the Kansas City philanthropic landscape, and supporting internal projects. Special projects for the Foundation may include leveraging local data available through the GuideStar portal, better utilizing reporting on employee board service and community volunteering, and research projects on specific nonprofit sectors. The intern will work closely with a small team and will present key findings to the Foundation Chairman.
Responsibilities within the Commercial team include serving as a utility player: learning about various Specialty Lending programs, conducting an SBA procedures and workflow review, drafting various internal communications, and other projects as assigned. This individual with have the opportunity to work with the Commercial team on two key projects: Insight360 (our new CRM) and plans for our new Loan Origination System.
Work Hours: Monday-Friday (8:00am-5:00pm); Summer Internship
Qualifications:
• 2-3 years of college courses
• Analytical thinker capable of problem identification and resolution
• Ability to anticipate next steps and work with a certain level of independence
• Proven ability to create cohesive communications for audiences at various levels of the organization
• Detail oriented with flexibility as appropriate
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
