Under direction of the Business Control Program Manager and Lead, this role provides direct support and execution on assigned projects to ensure that the risks of new/modified products/channels/services are identified, monitored and tracked and the appropriate controls are documented and delivered. This is performed through a well-documented mapping between Product/Service Risk Assessments (PSRA), Laws, Rules, Regulations and Policies, ORM Risk and Control Libraries, Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Business Unit Compliance Risk Assessment (BUCRA), Business Requirements Document (BRD), process flows, User Acceptance Tests (UAT), procedures and other relevant risk and project artifacts.
By leading and documenting detailed discussions about controls, laws, rules, regulations, and policies (LRR), consultations with Risk Partners, detailed reviews of project deliverables, the Business Control Program Senior Risk Analyst will deliver the required evidence of compliant controls for the project. This person will document specific action tasks with clear follow-up steps and perform the tracking of multiple responses to ensure accurate and complete documentation from Risk Partners and other business partners.
The Senior Risk Analyst will act as a liaison between the project team(s) and second/third line of defense to ensure guidance is incorporated in the overall solution design. This role will also facilitate the completion of the PSRA and related artifacts.
The Business Control Program Senior Risk Analyst will work closely and assist the Business Control Program Leads and Business Control Program Manager with various tasks in building out the Business Control and Risk Partners programs to operationalize the function for assigned Regional Bank initiatives.
Major Responsibilities:
• Support the delivery of RADAR Risk & Control Matrix application through participation in the design (functional, workflow, report, UI), data conversion activities, and testing to ensure alignment of BCPO requirements to application delivered.
• Support the collection of requirements in the form of laws, rules, regs, and policies (LRR), from partners in all impacted risk stripes. Map LRR to business requirements and other project deliverables.
• Track and close complex action tasks captured in multiple forums. Accuracy is critical to ensure that responses are captured and stored as evidence of participants’ guidance.
• Build, collect and maintain detailed data supporting the delivery of controls including extensive mapping of multiple data elements. Risks are mapped from various risk assessments to risk taxonomy. Controls are mapped to control taxonomy and multiple details and evidence as built out in the project Risk and Control Matrix.
• Manage data in the Risk and Control Matrix (RCM). Map relevant risks and controls to the applicable requirements, process flows or other applicable workstream deliverables. Map third party engagements to risks and controls. Extreme attention to detail and accuracy is required.
• Review UAT scripts, test plans, UAT results in order to ensure adequate testing of controls being delivered through projects.
• Support PSRA reviews with Approvers and Risk Partners utilizing the collective data in the Risk & Control Matrix.
• Perform detailed analysis to ensure that items added, modified and de-scoped are cascaded through the detailed traceability process for identification of impacts to controls and other deliverables in support of the change governance process.
• Ensure development of business adoption deliverables within the project framework to support controls including procedures, training, and communication.
• Collect detailed information on third party engagements and create an accurate description of engagements. Perform or review third party risk assessments for accurate and consistent ratings.
• Responsible for reviewing TPRM Credible Challenge and ensuing remediation tasks on third party engagements.
• Responsible for contributing to risk reporting for various forums and status reporting on accomplishments, upcoming work, issues, risks, decisions.
Qualifications
• Minimum 5-7 years in program/project delivery, risk disciplines and/or operational roles.
• Bachelor's degree with applicable certifications preferred.
• Strong understanding of operational risk management and compliance.
• Ability to understand and interpret complex dependencies across projects with multiple workstreams.
• Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to consolidate analyze and summarize detailed data to Executive Management in a meaningful and simplified presentation format.
• Attention to detail is a required skill.
• Flexibility to handle changing priorities.
