The Role
The Sr. Consultant, Benefits Technology Sales Support will provide subject matter expertise and direction on complex projects/initiatives for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility. This position will represent the BenTech department by assisting Sales and participating in finalist sales presentations for assigned territories and market segments. In particular, this role will serve as the subject matter expert regarding technology RFP responses and Broker BenTech updates.
Responsibilities
Broker Engagement & Sales Support
• Partners with Sales, Enrollment Tech and BenTech organizations to formulate an effective marketing story for LFG’s BenTech capabilities for his/her assigned area(s).
• Creates and conducts presentations to brokers, sales offices, and customers to communicate LFG’s BenTech value proposition for his/her assigned area(s)
• Assists in determining how to position products based on a prospective customer’s chosen BenTech platform, specific pain points and needs.
• Serves as a subject matter expert in responding to Request for Proposal questionnaires, especially those related to BenTech capabilities and partnerships for his/her assigned area(s).
• Provides subject matter expertise & market intelligence to ensure the Lincoln sales team is abreast of evolving market trends
• Provides input & support around the creation of company-wide education and marketing tools to support growth through benefits technology partnerships
• Serves as an expert resource in a variety of ad hoc projects to support the ongoing development and evolution of the BenTech department.
• Builds and maintains effective working relationships with internal and external customers including Distribution/BenTech management, Account Managers, Case Managers, Sales offices, Enrollment Technology & EDI, brokers, and clients.
• Leads change management initiatives to facilitate adoption of Lincoln’s technology funding solution(s) through ongoing communication, education & training
Enterprise Collaboration
• Provides guidance & subject matter expertise to the products team regarding new product development to ensure products are compatible with and fully utilize the functionality of benefits technology platforms
• Provides direction on complex assignments, projects, and/or initiatives to build and enhance the capability of his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Business Acumen
• Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions
• Champions and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives
• Identifies and recommends process improvements that significantly reduce workloads or improve quality
• Remains current in profession and industry trends.
Requirements
Education
• 4 Year/Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelors) (Minimum Required)
Experience
• 5 – 7+ Years experience in partnership building and/or insurance/benefits directly aligned to the specific responsibilities for this role (Required)
• Strong knowledge of key trends impacting the HR and talent management landscape preferred
• Strong working knowledge of insurance company operations
• Strong understanding of the economics of the group insurance industry preferred
• General knowledge and understanding of the technical and operational intricacies of benefits technology companies preferred
• Demonstrated track record of developing strong working relationships with external business partners, including experience driving greater alignment between a partner’s goals and objectives and those of the company
• Strong negotiating skills, including the ability to find common ground with partners with respect to potentially complex issues such as compensation programs and technology integrations
• Ability to work closely with internal business partners to quickly identify and resolve potential service issues and to advocate on behalf of external business partners
Travel Requirements
• Travel Type: National Domestic
• Travel Amount: up to 50%
