Job Summary
The Learning Data Analyst applies knowledge in quantitative analysis, and the presentation of data to recognize trends and help inform, influence, support, and execute business decisions. Collects and compiles data from learner engagement, feedback and performance, working with internal teams to automate or streamline data collection processes wherever possible. Creates reports illustrating connections between learning initiatives, sales performance and/or business results and recommends strategies to improve the return on learning (ROL) investments. Assesses overall impact and effectiveness of learning programs, using industry standards and best class benchmarks to enhance programs and the employee experience.
Essential Job Functions
Data Collection Partners with learning teams and Business Unit stakeholders to identify learning and performance triggers and establish appropriate data collection points; Supports development of learning surveys and other collection tools; Extracts data from various databases, collaborating with various internal and external partners as needed; Integrates captured learning data with other sources of data, such as sales performance and quality indexing; Performs exploratory data analysis, cleanses, massages, and aggregates data; Ensures data accuracy through validation and sourcing; Streamlines and/or automates data collection processes whenever possible Data Analysis and Evaluation Quantifies current impact of training and identifies opportunities to increase impact; Organizing, analyzing and interpreting complex data; Conducts comprehensive analysis of data including (but not limited to) growth, engagement, and revenue; Employs scaling and automation to data preparation techniques; Introduces incremental improvements to data analysis, visualization, and presentation techniques to communicate discoveries; Identifies need for change in area of data collection, sourcing and analytics; Leads the implementation and training of new analytical products Data Reporting Find the story in the data and communicate insights and opportunities with executive and other internal teams; Provides detailed and accurate reporting (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually); Creates, completes and manages ad hoc reporting requests in a timely manner; Create analytics frameworks and set best practices, including development of tools, reports, and dashboards; Partners with the U of F Leadership and Brand Ambassador to present findings and recommendations; Writes analytical summaries and produces University scorecard(s); Leads innovative packaging and presentation of insights for learners, facilitators, leadership and other interested parties
Physical Actions
Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance. Listens to, interprets, and differentiates auditory information (e.g. others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Visually verifies and reads information. Visually locates material, resources and other objects. Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.
Physical Environment
This position operates in an open office working environment which will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions.
Education Requirements
Bachelors degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics or similar field, or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
Experience Requirements
Minimum five years experience in quantitative analytics.
