Job Description
Visa will launch a new service in the cross border, account-to-account processing market in 2019. This role is a unique opportunity to join the Visa team and be part of the roll-out of the service by developing and managing a set of B2B standards.
This role is an individual contributor at an advanced support staff level and is responsible for applying independent judgment in developing contractual terms through standards and assisting the business in resolving issues and making recommendations to achieve business goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Manage the development of standards to support Visa’s B2B Connect service, including understanding the downstream impacts of business function sponsor proposals for new or updated products, systems, services, programs or other initiatives regarding the Client legal agreement. The role will collaborate with the B2B product office on strategy.
• Manage and assist in the publication of the B2B standards through the Visa Authoring Tool as well as identify improvements.
• Assist in developing Supplemental Requirements to the Visa B2B standards as necessary. The Supplemental Requirements are also contractually binding.
• Develop Redacted Disclosure Standards as necessary for the public version of the Visa B2B standards.
• Ensure that all drafted standards are consistent with current Visa philosophy while adapting to market-driven change.
• Ensure that all materials meet department standards of quality and are delivered to the appropriate Visa committee for approval.
• Guide Business Function sponsors through the process of concept, development, review, approval and publication. In addition, the role ensures that all appropriate approvals are obtained from Visa Inc. Committee’s as appropriate as well as ensuring all such processes are documented and managed within the global function.
• Provide Clients and staff with accurate interpretation and analysis of Visa’s B2B Connect service standards in response to telephone or written inquiries, and as a full project team member for assigned projects as required.
• Work with the Visa account executives and other teams to develop and maintain a strong understanding of commercial banks, corporates, B2B payment providers, Fintechs and technology partners, and their cross border payment requirements.
• Work closely with other teams in Visa to ensure they are educated on B2B Connect and understand its strategic importance to Visa.
• Secondary responsibilities includes learning about Visa and managing the development of Visa rules including understanding the downstream impacts of business function sponsor proposals for new or updated products, systems, services, programs or other initiatives. The Visa Rules are published in multiple languages.
Qualifications
• Bachelors/Degree or equivalent experience; Minimum of 12+ years progressively responsible experience in complex B2B payments in the financial services industry. A strong background in cash management, transaction banking or treasury experience is required. A detailed knowledge of SWIFT messaging and correspondent banking is a plus.
• Results orientation and passionate about B2B payment industry players, their customers, and emerging technology/global B2B commerce space. A strong understanding of adjacent technology would be a benefit.
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven abilities in negotiating with and influencing customers and staff at all levels, including strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Excellent writing skills to convey complex topics in “Plain English.”
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. MadCap Flare authoring software, SharePoint, and Visio a plus.
• Excellent research and analytical skills.
• Ability to set priorities and manage expectations, and work both as part of a team and independently.
• Visa experience or in-depth knowledge of the payment solutions industry is highly desired.
• Extensive experience with Visa, a Regulatory Body, a B2B, ACH, SWIFT, or other Financial Industry body. Knowledge of the Visa Rules or SEPA highly desired.
• Multi-lingual capability is a plus.
