Supports the maintenance of the Agency Management System (Applied) and provides related support to the agency. Processes reports in order to support the insurance agency’s activities and initiatives. Functions as an internal consultant to assist the FCIA Managers in solving complex problems and to ensure efficient operations between the business and technology divisions of the corporation.
Essential Job Responsibilities
1. Functions as an internal consultant to assist FCIA managers in solving complex problems and to support efficient operations and flow of information.
2. Supports the maintenance of the Agency Management System (Applied) and provides related support to the agency.
a. Recommends and implements system changes and releases.
b. Outlines appropriate change control procedures.
c. Monitors/negotiates timeframes for requested changes.
d. Outlines testing methodology.
e. Monitors the application for releases/updates.
f. Maintains security and integrity of system data; recommends controls by identifying problems and writing improved procedures.
3. Develops and maintains a good working knowledge of the assigned systems, including system features, input forms, coding, transaction processing, reporting, system calculations, and reconcilement procedures/General Ledger interface.
4. Determines operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements and formats.
5. Works to establish an awareness of technology utilized throughout the corporation. Makes recommendations for FCIA use as appropriate.
6. Responsible for learning what is needed to supply overall system support for all affiliates with respect to verbal/written inquiries, problems, application control record changes, training, testing/implementing new products, data conversion, reconcilement support, and documentation to ensure the highest level of customer service.
7. Creates informative, actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement
8. Recommends changes to senior management using analytics to support recommendations. Actively participates in the implementation of approved changes.
9. Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends.
10. Reviews and approves Work Orders, projects, releases, etc. Refers to supervisor in a timely manner if established completion dates cannot be met and perform only approved system changes.
11. Assists Agency Management System Coordinator as needed and, as instructed by supervisor.
12. Trains as a back-up for the FCIA Accounting Division; decisions relating to problem resolution, training, accounting discrepancies.
Bona Fide Occupational Qualifications
1. A High School diploma or its equivalent is required. An Associates Degree in a technical field is preferred.
2. One (1) year of related work experience is required.
3. Experience with MS Office Suite, report creation, and various PC applications is required, and familiarity with the Applied Systems software and SQL knowledge is preferred.
