As a Senior Scrum Master, you'll work with product managers, engineering managers, vendors, and other product teams to help deliver iterative releases of our digital solutions, providing continuous enhancements to online, mobile, and other digital-driven experiences for our customers.

As Sr Scrum Master, you'll partner effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment of TCF priorities and IT project delivery, planning and executing on project tasks and driving for results through both project team members and stakeholders. Leverage technical/functional subject matter experts to maximize velocity for project completion. Carefully balance the three constraints of cost, time, and scope to best suit the needs of the business and the enterprise. Ensure accountability, transparency, and regularity in project status updates. Serve as a partner in the deployment of Agile methodology and processes throughout Information Technology.
Major areas of accountability:
• Lead and collaborate with engineers and architects in an agile environment to deliver digital solutions to our customers, connecting engagement and customer-facing applications with APIs, integration services, and data sources.
• Actively participate and collaborate with vendor and external software development teams, focused on delivering Online and Mobile business applications that meet TCF’s needs.
• Teach and act as Scrum master with a focus on guiding the teams towards improving the way they work. Reach out to the larger company network for impediment removal.
• Facilitate sprint planning, retrospective and sprint demos. Facilitate effective coordination with other Scrum teams, project teams, and/or operational teams. Consult with the Product Owner to validate priorities.
• Ensure cross-team coordination; facilitate getting the work done without, assigning, or dictating the work.
• Foster self-organization. Enable the Team to make decisions and remove decision making barriers whenever possible. Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
• Manage and communicate relevant metrics to team on progress against team objectives.
• Coach and mentor other scrum masters in our product team. Ensure methods used are consistent across the teams.
• Act as a project manager when necessary. Take responsibility for managing dependencies between our team and third parties or between our team and other scrum teams.
• Foster transparency and visibility and radiate information to strengthen the presence of our team as an Agile center of excellence. Actively contribute to the company’s Agile and Lean Community. Keep the rest of the company network aware of our activities.
Education
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other technical related field or equivalent work experience
Preferred:
• Certified Project Manager or similar industrial certification
• Master’s degree in a related field
Required work experience:
• 3+ years of experience with Agile Development.
• Experience with Mobile and Online application development and delivery.
• Experience delivering customer-facing online applications, including work with UX, branding, and information architecture efforts.
• 8 - 10 years of experience of large program/portfolio management and strategic planning; 5+ years project management experience.
• Proven track record in project portfolio management and establishment of project methodology standards; very experienced with prioritization techniques.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and influence skills among all organizational levels; strong facilitation and executive communications skills.
• Strong ability to effectively manage and resolve conflicting priorities.
• High level of organization and attention to detail.
• Advanced skills in MS Office Suite with particular emphasis on Excel.
• Understand basic fundamentals of iterative development.
• Understand other processes and methodologies and can speak intelligently about them and leverage other techniques to provide value to a team/enterprise.
• Understand basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures.
• Understand the value of commitments to delivery made by a development team; understand incremental delivery and the value of metrics.
• Understand backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition.
• Familiarity with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and better development practices.
• Experience in Retail, eCommerce, or Financial Services Industries.
• Experience with PPM Software a plus.
• PMP, Scrum Master, or Portfolio Management certifications strongly preferred
• Experience with agile methodology.
• No direct personnel supervisory responsibility, however, supervises large complex project teams with cross-functional team members.
