At Grant Thornton, our professional staff applies traditional, cutting-edge approaches and methods to a variety of analyses. As part of our team, the Associate will utilize various methodologies and models to execute client projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
• Serves as member of the Internal Communications Team to support a broad based national security-focused public affairs and communications program.
• Works client personnel to plan, draft, and implement detailed messaging and communications plans that educate and prepare all impacted members for the launching of major initiatives.
• Responsible for managing team communications with other units.
• Ensures efficient coordination and handling of important agency processes including Congressional inquiries, executive taskers and "Broadcast Message" distribution; responsible for on time completion of all taskers and meeting this program metric working with team members.
• Collaborates with other SCT teams to identify solutions and risk mitigation strategies to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Meets with SCT federal leadership, other team leads and program manager to discuss team status, priorities and issues.
• Develops and implements internal communications plans for major program initiatives
• Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).
• Assist with business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership materials.
Qualifications
• Demonstrated communications experience including strong writing, communications strategy and execution management skills
• Strong project and task management skills; highly organized and attention to detail (must be hands on)
• Ability to understand complex issues and devise strategies and plans to communicate these items in plain language
• Bachelor’s Degree required from an accredited college or university in a related field.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certain job-related certifications if no job-related advanced degrees.
• U.S. citizenship may be required. Ability to work in the United States indefinitely required.
• Travel may be required.
• Ability to work overtime required on occasion.
• Ability to sit in an office environment for long periods of time.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Ability to obtain and maintain firm independence and abide by firm ethics requirements.
• Meet or exceed continuing professional education (CPE) requirements.
