Wealth Management Operations
Global Wealth Management Operations provides brokerage, investment and financial services to hundreds of thousands of individual investors. We apply our expertise in serving institutional clients to create new opportunities for people to achieve their personal financial goals. Morgan Stanley has one of the largest retail brokerage networks, with numerous worldwide representatives and retail locations. Our services are tailored to each client's investment objectives, risk tolerance, and financial needs. Products include mutual funds, stocks, bonds, and alternative investments where appropriate, as well as banking, mortgages, insurance and annuities.
Capital Markets & Core Processing provides Operational support to the Capital Markets business within Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. As part of their support model, CMCP has a dedicated Change the Bank team which is responsible for management of large scale programs. The team collaborates with stakeholders in Operations, IT and the Business to analyze, define and deliver the Technology and Operational processes. Members of the team are expected to take leadership roles in the various programs as well as to take personal accountability for delivering first class solutions and products.
The Change & Control team for Trade Support & Service across Equities, Fixed Income, Structured/Syndicate Products, and the Futures/FX business is expanding to focus on managing change initiatives, with an emphasis on dissecting and reengineering current processes (i.e. Operating Model Design), mitigating risk and ensuring proper controls are in place. Effectively, the team will function as an internal consulting group, tasked with defining and implementing the strategic operating model to enable scalability and business growth. Given the dynamic nature of the business and regulatory environment, as well as the number of stakeholders likely to be involved in projects, the ideal candidate for this career opportunity will have an appreciation for complexity and the need for maintaining a controlled environment, and be adaptable, action-oriented, and ambitious, with sharp communication skills.
The candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Review and document current state business support model to identify opportunities to reduce manual processing (i.e. bottlenecks), implement controls to mitigate risk, and/or build synergies between comparable teams/processes
• Develop and maintain relationships with Business, Risk, Legal, Compliance, and Technology partners
• Drive business case development and syndicate with appropriate stakeholders to gain consensus (and ultimately, funding) for change initiatives
• Manage internal risk-related process improvement projects from inception to implementation to enhance the Capital Markets Trade Support processes
• Manage formal project management deliverables, including but not limited to project plans, risk/issue trackers, business requirements, test plans, and program-wide status updates to senior management
• Coordinate engagement of stakeholders and subject matter experts from various functional groups across multiple projects & geographic regions
Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience in program/project management; experience in management consulting a plus
• Familiarity with current challenges in Financial Services institutions
• Keen attention to detail with a methodical approach to root-cause analysis and problem solving
• Effective organization and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly and engage stakeholders at all experience levels
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and act in a fast-paced environment
• Strong interest in process improvement, automation, and system enhancements
• Desire to lead and learn continuously
