Summary
The Mutual Fund Operations Training Specialist is responsible for leading efforts to provide learning and development solutions to help the business area accomplish its operational goals. Overall responsibilities include assessing training needs, recommending training solutions, developing curriculum, scheduling and facilitating training sessions, and measuring and monitoring trainee progress to ensure delivery of business results. Expected to deliver training that covers product, process and systems knowledge as well as service skills development. Also review/update procedure documentation to ensure consistency, accuracy, quality and standardization of processes are provided to staff.
• Consult with business area management to assess learning/development/training needs for products, policies, procedures, technical systems and service skills and then recommend/develop solutions to address those needs.
• Develop and write curriculum that addresses business needs and incorporates use of adult learning principles and different learning/work styles and follows established design processes and approaches including e-learning and in person sessions.
• Deliver training in either classroom or virtual settings that incorporates use of adult learning principles and recognizes different learning/work styles.
• Monitor, evaluate and record effectiveness of training courses. Research and analyze training and development practices, methodologies and trends and recommend new approaches.
• Mentor and coach new training staff.
• Represent training interests on Agile teams and participate as a development team member when not facilitating classroom training.
Required Job Qualifications
• Associate’s degree with focus on adult learning principles preferred.
• 2 to 4 years of training experience in both classroom and virtual settings.
• Experience in developing training programs and writing curriculum that reflects knowledge of adult learning principles, different learning/work styles and established instructional design approaches and processes.
• Possess an understanding of current training and delivery methods and techniques.
• Experience in coaching/mentoring within call center environment.
Other Critical Factors
• Knowledge of mutual funds or financial services industry strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of mutual funds system experience (i.e. TA2000, etc.) preferred.
• Experience with Adobe Captivate or other eLearning tools preferred; understanding of Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical skills; attention to detail and excellent follow through.
• Collaborative approach and effective interaction with Leadership and front line employees.
• Possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of team.
• Display excellent verbal and written communication skills.
