The Credit Rep I is responsible for weekly and monthly system maintenance updates; logging, uploading, and spreading financial statements; and special projects as assigned. These spreads are utilized by senior management during annual reviews of credit relationships, reaffirming loans due for renewal, and for approving new loans. Other responsibilities include special projects as needed, including basic system data maintenance.
The position reports to the Saint Louis Credit Supervisor and works directly with Commercial Banking Relationship Managers. The position provides an opportunity to apply knowledge from early level college accounting and finance courses in a professional setting. It also provides an opportunity to receive an introduction to Commercial Banking through weekly team meetings and speakers.
Daily work includes entering information from financial statements into bank systems. Training is provided on systems for the first 2-3 weeks on the job. Regular feedback is provided and to check understanding of the work. Success in the position requires an understanding of financial statements, attention to detail, good communication and interpersonal skills, familiarity with basic financial concepts and financial statements, and a desire to learn.
Candidates should have at least 3 hours of Accounting completed, with a preference for candidates who have obtained at least the Sophomore or Junior level of a Business related degree. Proficiency in Excel required.
Education: some college, with a preference for Business and Accounting related majors
Experience: some data entry and customer service experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: basic understanding of financial statements, good communications skills
