RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Vice President of Accounting, the Director of Treasury has responsibility for the direction and management of Jackson Hewitt’s capital structure strategy. This includes optimizing the utilization and efficiency of financial assets, advising on appropriate leverage levels, and recommending strategies for cash optimization. Additionally, the Director of Treasury will focus on working capital management, the effective investment of cash on hand and the efficient management of the balance sheet to align with stakeholder expectations. The Director of Treasury will oversee Jackson Hewitt’s budget, forecast, financial planning and cash management while limiting risks to the organization. The successful applicant will have previous experience in financial management and will maintain positive relationships with banks, credit agencies and financial institutions. The Director of Treasury will work closely with Vice President of Accounting and other executive management to ensure appropriate financial systems have been put in place and are constantly followed.
Specific responsibilities will include:
• Lead all aspects of Treasury
• Primary architect of Jackson Hewitt’s cash management structure that detects and prevents fraud
• Primary relationship manager for several key suppliers covering critical business functions
• Evaluate, negotiate and execute debt capital market transactions to maintain financial strength, flexibility and adequate funding at the lowest cost of capital
• Manage the short and long-term balance sheet and cash flow forecasting processes and help identify opportunities to drive additional free cash flow
• Manage liquidity and interest rate risk for Jackson Hewitt
• Maintain recordkeeping on deposits and manage payment of interest and principal
• Manage relationships with banks, credit rating agencies, and other financial institutions
• Determine cash needs for Jackson Hewitt
• Maintain contingency funding plan for Jackson Hewitt
• Ensure the operational execution of day-to-day funding and recordkeeping requirements of Jackson Hewitt
• Be part of the team that builds a highly efficient cash management structure
• Advise on the best way to collect and disburse funds via cutting-edge solution
• Manage a high volume of transactions originating from several diverse business units
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALITIES
This role requires 10 to 15 years in roles of progressive responsibility in Treasury and or a combination of Treasury and corporate finance. Although not required, experience in or familiarity with the Financial Services and/or Retail sectors strongly preferred. In order to excel in this position, this individual should possess excellent communication skills and the power of persuasion, acute business acumen, and an unmatched desire to succeed. S/he must have the learning agility, initiative, and energy to both keep up with and contribute to the changing marketplace. This role will require experience working in a fast- paced environment and the ability to adjust and respond to dynamic business conditions.

• Manage relationships critical to successfully preserve access to the debt capital markets, such as credit rating agencies, banks and with major financial institutions
TECHNICAL ACUMEN
• Strong knowledge of capital structure strategy and financial forecasting
• Display an inherent awareness of financial fraud and a curiosity to research and explain new fraud schemes
• Thorough knowledge of all accounting and tax related legislation, regulations, and reporting procedures as well as Federal and State laws relating to treasury function
• Experience must exemplify a broad knowledge of market conditions and a wide range of external contracts to achieve Jackson Hewitt’s objectives
• Able to analyze and comprehend financial statements, as well as the impact of financial information
RESEARCH

• Adept and advanced skills to filter, group, map, and sort voluminous data from accounting systems (V-lookups, macros, etc.)
• A meticulous attention to detail combined with the drive to deliver the most accurate reporting

EDUCATION AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or quantitative discipline, Accounting and/or Business Administration or equivalent experience preferred. An MBA and/or CFA /or CPA /Chartered Accountant is preferred
