Provide financial support to the Commercial Banking business group. Prepare complex analytical reports and conduct highly technical accounting-based research and analysis projects to provide management with definitive financial data and advice. This position may provide direction to junior-level analysts.
Major Responsibilities:
• Financial Reporting: Develop and produce financial reports for Commercial Banking business unit. Provide analytical support for periodic reporting processes. Provide financial and research support to Commercial Banking management. Requires ability to understand the supported business line to properly align financial models and to assess impacts to operational goals and strategic plans. Will at times need to collaborate with various stakeholders (i.e. Central FP&A, controllers, etc.) to understand and accomplish reporting goals.
• Financial Planning Support: Provide support to Commercial Banking business unit in the development of monthly and quarterly forecasts and the annual budget. Create and maintain models use for development of forecasts and budget. Provide management and group CFO with analysis and interpretation of results. May support the development and tracking of KPIs for supported business unit.
• Financial & Risk Systems Support: Develop database programs and complex financial models to conduct analysis, and to facilitate efficient planning and reporting. Work with systems personnel to develop or enhance systems as needed.
• Special Project Support: Perform additional finance related duties and ad hoc/special projects as assigned which may include analysis associated with new products/initiatives, new acquisition support and peer group comparisons.
Qualifications
• Requires the ability to conduct complex financial analysis, with an emphasis on reporting, variance analysis and forecasting.
• Ability to quickly gain deep understanding of business lines supported to properly align financial models and to assess the impacts to operational goals and strategic plans.
• Financial services industry FP&A experience is a plus, knowledge of commonly-used financial concepts, practices and procedures.
• Detail oriented with the ability to work efficiently and independently with little supervision.
• Excellent time management skills, ability to work under time pressure and handle multiple tasks/projects at the same time
• Ability to quickly adapt to direction changes and short turnaround windows.
• Problem resolution skills with strong analytical skills, sound judgment and ability to work effectively with management and technical staff. Ability to work with all levels of management.
