Opportunity Overview
The Project Leader in the Clients Strategies Group PMO is responsible for establishing and leading several medium to large strategic initiatives simultaneously. As a Project Leader, you will lead a variety of different types of projects including launching new products and services, large-scale application development, systems integration, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering, and other upgrades and deployments.
Position Requirements
Responsibilities
1. Single accountable party for defining, planning, orchestrating, and delivering a given strategic initiative
2. Ensures end results are of the highest caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business benefit
3. Directs large-scale, complex projects often involving multiple constituents and matrix partners
4. Accountable for one or more initiatives including business, operational, and IT deliverables
5. Directly manages all aspects of the project lifecycle and works with matrix IT partners to oversee all SDLC phases of a project
6. Rigorously manages scope to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed on time, cost, and quality parameters
7. Managing requirements elicitation through the use of sub-project leaders
8. Serves as a subject matter expert in routinely briefing key stakeholders on different aspects of assigned initiatives
9. Represents the project in various project governance and inter-department forums
10. Chairs Core Team and Operating Committee meetings to review progress with key constituents
11. Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan
12. Develops the project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related project management artifacts
13. Publishes periodic project status reports
14. Proposes recommendations and adjustments
Qualifications
1. Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; deliver tough messages with grace; execute with limited information and ambiguity
2. Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization effectively
3. Solid influencing skills
4. Sound business and technical acumen
5. Experience with stakeholder management
6. Focused and versatile team player that is comfortable under pressure
7. Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision both written and verbally
8. Strong presentation skills
9. Ability to remove barriers and enable teams to complete their objectives
10. Demonstrated, applied experience establishing and delivering projects with a high level of complexity/integration
11. Demonstrated industry or position-related experience
12. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
13. Exemplary core project management skills including multiple aspects of the PMBOK
14. Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management and SDLC methodologies and tools
15. A bachelor's degree is required.
16. Candidates must hold or obtain Series 7 and 66 licenses within first 6 months after hire.
