Description
As a member of the Technology organization, you will be part of the team that serves the needs of Santander Bank, N.A., including products and services for personal, business and corporate customers. The Technology Team supports the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of all banking systems. This team has the expertise and commitment to develop high-quality solutions to meet the needs of a fast-paced and complex operating environment.
The Sr. Specialist, Application Development develops and maintains software applications, and develops programs in required language to meet project schedule. S/he maintains and supports existing software applications, identifies and resolves basic application issues and bugs; escalates complex application issues to management for resolution.
Responsibilities
• Analyzes user stories written by domain experts and translate to technical solutions.
• Assists in analyzing and deploying hardware or software updates and other patch management directives.
• Assists in special projects and tasks for the department of a diverse nature.
• Assists in the configuration and administration of the Company's systems or applications to ensure changes are methodologically planned, executed and verified.

• Contribute to the implementation of all IT related policies and procedures.
• Escalates work issues to Team Lead or Manager as needed.
• Helps maintain quality, organization, and automation of software applications.
• Interacts with business areas, and systems analysts and/or business analysts to gain input and support decision making.
• Participates in business and technical information technology solution implementations, upgrades, enhancement and conversions.
• Prepares a variety of routine and special reports as required.
• Provide guidance and training to less experienced IT Specialists.
• Recommends enhancements to existing software and applications to improve effectiveness.
• Responds to inquiries and refers issues to the appropriate department or person, and exhibits the necessary follow through with customers and/or staff involved.
• Troubleshoot incidents reported by business units or end users.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree; Information Technology or equivalent field or equivalent work experience;
Work Experience
• 3-5 years; Information Technology, Technical Application Development, or similar experience.
• Experience providing customer support for IT systems or applications.
• Experience writing technical documentation for both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Skills and Abilities
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical personnel.

• Basic communication skills.
• Basic knowledge in development tools.

• Requires broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education.
• Technical writing and documentation experience.
• The ability to program in required language.
