Capital Group’s Fund Boards Group is part of the Legal and Compliance Department. It serves as a focal point for communication with and between the fund board members, senior management and shareholders, and has a key role in the administration of the board and critical fund matters. A key responsibility for the department is to ensure that board members have the appropriate information and resources for discharging his/her fiduciary duties to shareholders. The department is also responsible for ensuring that the records of the board's actions reflect the proper exercise of those fiduciary duties. The department partners with a number of internal and external business partners.
As a Senior Fund Assistant based in our Los Angeles office, you will provide administrative support to the office of the Corporate Secretary of mutual funds and will have direct interaction with senior management, board members, independent fund counsels, and audit firms.
Responsibilities:
•Assistance with the planning and implementation of board, board committee and shareholder meetings
•Organization and compilation of board and board committee meeting materials
•Maintenance of corporate records and fund files
•Coordination of monthly and special mailings
•Preparation of expense reports
•Maintenance of internal databases
•Other projects as assigned
Qualifications:
•4+ years of administrative support experience preferred
•A self-starter with excellent judgment, exceptional communication skills, strong customer service and professionalism
•A strong problem-solver with initiative to work creatively and independently with competing deadlines and priorities
•Demonstrates a high level of time management, organizational skills, and attention to detail with integrity and ownership of work
•Strong Word, Adobe Acrobat and Excel skills preferred
•Some college preferred
