Role Value Proposition:
The Senior Account Manager – Expat Benefits serves as a relationship manager for the largest and/or most complex and critical clients for MetLife Worldwide Benefits. The role serves as a dedicated point of contact for Brokers & Clients, focused on activities leading to increased growth & persistency. Accountability for the persistency of assigned clients while focused on quarterbacking the end-to-end service experience that drive profitable growth and increased persistency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Responsible for the internal and external activities associated with the retention and growth of an assigned book of business by maintaining and growing existing broker and client relationships. Establishes and maintains strong professional and personal relationships with clients and brokers presenting a positive image of MetLife Worldwide Benefits
• Full ownership of complex and critical clients with regard to persistency and upsell opportunities. Tracking, preparing, and delivering renewal packages to brokers and clients in a timely manner with proficiency in product renewal underwriting, able to explain workups, negotiate rates within given margin position, and recommend plan design alternatives as necessary
• Preparing and executing annual renewal and upsell account plans for all clients. Staying informed of specific broker and client activities taking place (acquisitions, divestures, layoffs, budget challenges, etc.)
• Actively participate in finalist meetings for prospective customers, stewardship meetings for existing customers and broker meetings to discuss both. Participating in the implementation process for newly assigned clients including new client webinars
• Working with internal partners to resolve escalated issues, request needed plan performance reporting and develop marketing plans
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:
• Sales experience with a strategic view over a book of business
• Knowledge and understanding of medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and travel products for expatriate and third country national employees with excellent written and oral communication skills
• Partner with the sales team to expand broker and new client relationships
• Life and Health license required within 90 days
• Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint and proficient in Salesforce for both CRM activities and service activities
Preferred:
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in an independent environment with a high level of organization including the ability to prioritize tasks
• Ability to learn new systems and maneuver within multiple complex systems at the same time and able to achieve results through others and delegate well.
• Strong product knowledge and financial acumen to help brokers and customers understand rates and changes.
• Able to independently deal with escalations and bring them to resolution and have the ability to lead renewal and stewardship meetings
• Able to look across entire book of business, looking for trends to proactively anticipate problems and come up with solutions
