About
the role
The principal focus of the position is the Financial Reporting for iptiQ Americas Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), which covers new business to be written under iptiQ Americas. The Financial Reporting area includes US GAAP, US Statutory, Swiss Statutory, and Economic Value Measurement (EVM). In addition, the individual in this position will contribute to the analysis of business results, and financial planning process.
You will be responsible for compiling and presenting high quality financial reports, demonstrating clear understanding of the business drivers. The main activities include among others:
• US GAAP quarterly submissions.
• US Statutory including preparation and reviewing of quarterly and Annual Statement for the insurance carrier.
• Quarterly analysis and reporting of earnings results under US GAAP and Swiss STAT.
• Compilation of EVM presentation to the CFO.
• Contribute to the overall analysis of the business results when compared to plan.
• Monitor collateral requirements on intragroup retrocession ("IGR"), which includes an annual 5 year collateral plan filing.
• Provide support for development of pro-forma financial statements and footnotes for submission to state regulators for approval, which requires analyzing transaction documents and collaboration with peers along various departments.
You will also:
• Support the Financial reporting team in providing accounting information such as financial statements, footnote schedules, regulatory reports and other management reports. Implement new statutory and GAAP related accounting requirements and determine the accounting process for new transactions and related activities.
Use professional insight to identify and implement accounting improvements that increase the business value and efficiency
• Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns, working closely with other internal customers
• Evaluate, recommend and implement solutions to improve efficiency and increase quality
About You
A university graduate with a primary degree (or equivalent) preferably in Accounting / Finance with a minimum of 8 - 12+ years financial reporting and analysis experience in the life insurance sector.
• Expertise in Statutory Accounting for Life and Health companies
• Expertise in US GAAP and Economic Value Management
• Excellent analytical & financial reporting skills.
• CPA designation or working towards accreditation desired.
• Capable of delivering business results without significant supervision.
• Passion to perform and work towards operational excellence.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of insurance and reinsurance products and features
• Able to meet tight deadlines.
