Strategic Initiatives Leader, Vice President
Job Summary:
Reporting to a Managing Director, this role is responsible for guiding and executing organization efforts to achieve greater business agility through a multi-year, multi-phased approach to address change across the Business IT operating model, interaction model and organizational model to drive productivity improvement and cost reduction across a complex environment.
Major Responsibilities:
• Support the development of a detailed plan and dive the execution of the target state operating model strategy in conjunction with leadership team, finance and HR, with focus on delivering tangible business benefits to the organization
• Scope of work will include Operating model, Interaction model and Organizational model changes, resulting in improved productivity and cost reduction that supports organizational goals
• Perform deep dive analysis to validate target state employee / vendor mix including on shore and off shore vendors
• Identify opportunities for vendor aggregation and increased value through strategic partnerships. Work closely with leadership team and sourcing to develop RFI and RFP and vendor scoring materials as required
• Collaborate with HR and leadership team on the development of target state skills, headcount, location of staff and vendors across the Business IT organization including transition and training roadmaps
• Support the development of Executive-level reporting to senior management, executive management, and c-level groups/committees as required to provide productivity and business impact in order to support & facilitate executive decisions
Qualifications:
• BS Engineering, MIS or Business Administration. MBA is strongly preferred.
• Former top tier strategy consulting experience strongly preferred
• Experience in IT outsourcing strategies and outsourcing execution in financial services firms
• 8-10 years’ experience in IT strategy, operating model design and outsourcing in financial services
• Strong knowledge of technology outsourcing ecosystem and experience working with large providers
• Strong understanding of Systems Delivery Life Cycle, ITIL and Devops
• Strong understanding of Agile development processes at scale
• Domain knowledge in subject areas including Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing, Quality Engineering, Application Production Support, Risk, and Compliance
• Experience in business case development and financial modeling
• Critical thinker- with ability to logically evaluate the costs, risks, and benefits of alternatives before coming to a solution. Ability to look past symptoms to determine the underlying causes of problems and issues.
• Ability to approach problems holistically, define connections, linkages, interdependencies and develop solutions. Takes ownership of problems and stays on top of them until resolved
• Strong understanding of Cloud Technologies a plus
• Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills
• Detail oriented and well organized Strong work ethic, with ability to make decisions with imperfect information and work under tight deadlines
