Job Purpose
The AVP, Advisory Marketing Strategy will develop a marketing strategy for the Advisory space that aligns with the company’s strategic goals and objectives and will develop and deploy all branding and message development using Jackson’s multi-channel marketing platform. The AVP will partner closely with the AVP, Distribution Strategy with the goal of developing coordinated strategies, as appropriate. The AVP will focus on developing strong relationships with all key stakeholders, including those with the wholesaling force and specialized advisory support teams across the company.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
• Develops Jackson’s marketing strategy to deepen and strengthen the company’s brand identity and sales presence in the advisory space.
• Develops go to market strategies for advisory initiatives while coordinating launch efforts across a dynamic product agenda
• Develops and manages comprehensive marketing plans, new product or program launches, marketing campaigns and other related marketing communication tools.
• Partners closely with Product Management to provide insight on product development and adaptation to capture sales in the Advisory space.
• Partners closely with Market Research to define opportunities and delineate key market segments while collaborating with Distribution Strategy to target audiences appropriately.
• Deploys digital and traditional strategies to broaden communication and reach.
• Identifies success metrics and uses them to refine marketing activity.
• Promotes media opportunities by coordinating efforts with larger Marketing & Communications team.
• Works with Digital Experience on new platform enhancements and coordination of multi-channel campaigns.
• Drives the creation of sales collateral, white papers as well as website content and sales tools for advisors.
• Responsible for bringing new creative ideas to implementation, facilitating, and promoting creativity among the marking team and infiltrate the advisory space and reach our target markets.
• Responsible for conceptualizing, creating, and updating marketing materials that focus on capturing the awareness of new audiences, qualifying and converting leads, and driving the sales needle to the consideration phase.
• Promotes and communicates the Advisory marketing strategy to internal audiences.
• Partners with Jackson’s sales teams, National Accounts team, Product Management team, Compliance team and all internal stakeholders to bring the Advisory marketing strategy to life.
• Attends regional/annual wholesaler meetings to provide updates on products, positioning of products and teach product sales techniques.
• Functions as a product brand advocate by being a competitive expert, conduit of information, and source of sales ideas for distribution.
• Translate the technical aspects of our products into easily understood and compelling stories.
• Partners and collaborates with key sales leaders to gain insight from trends in the field and ensure they have the support they need to drive sales.
• Develops communication plans as related to new products, benefit changes, added features and other critical information that are important to wholesalers, internal and external customers.
• Develop comprehensive and creative marketing rollout plans that include internal and external communications, training and other stakeholders, as necessary.
• Prioritizes projects against key corporate initiatives appropriately, develop and manage timelines, communicate regularly to all stakeholders and consistently meet project deadlines.
• Fosters a positive, creative team environment that collaborates across channels, product lines, and audiences.
• Directs and develops staff to ensure optimal productivity and a team environment; responsible for personnel actions including hiring, performance and salary reviews, disciplinary action and firing.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Deep knowledge of the Advisory space.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong understanding of broad marketing and branding concepts.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Strong knowledge of the financial services industry and products.
• Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management as well as other departments in a collaborative environment.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects on a daily basis while simultaneously increasing quality and productivity, and reducing costs and time to market.
• Excellent organization and project management skills.
• Ability to lead, develop and train associates.
• Ability to analyze research and put it into the appropriate presentation format.
• Must be a detail-oriented, well-organized self-starter with high energy with the capacity to manage a team and collaborate.
• Ability to work a demanding schedule to see projects through to completion.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree required. MBA and/or advanced industry designations preferred.
• 8+ years of relevant work experience, preferably within the broker/dealer space.
• Management experience required.
• Marketing experience required.
• Project management experience preferred.
• FINRA Series 6 required, 7, 63, and 24 preferred.
