Description
Duties: Assisting the Director of Tax Reporting in the maintenance of the platforms and processes that manage and complete MUFG’s tax reporting, Japan Home Office reporting, and all MUFG federal tax returns. Responsible for accurately completing tax work papers, reconciliations and other documentation for MUAH’s quarterly 10Q and annual 10k reporting. Developing, maintaining and coordinating business units’ information request for tax provision reporting. Quarterly reconciling tax expense, tax payments and tax balance sheet accounts. Performing tax calculation in Excel, including Pivot Tables and Access database. Working with U.S. subsidiaries of Japanese companies to facilitate U.S. GAAP reporting. Completing quarterly Japan Home Office BTMU tax provision reporting. Annually reconciling all book and tax differences, including leasing and LIHTC partnerships, fixed assets, and the FDIC loan portfolio. Maintaining tax reporting processes and software, including One Source Tax provision, and One Source Income Tax. Responsible for all federal income tax compliance, including quarterly estimates, filing extensions (Form 7004) and final returns (Form 1120). Completing special projects for Federal Reserve including Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR) and Dodd Frank Annual Stress Testing (DFAST) from tax point of view.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, or a related field (or foreign equivalent degree).
Experience: 1 year of tax accounting and compliance experience in a big four public accounting firm; performing 10K and 10Q reporting; and working with U.S. subsidiaries of Japanese companies to facilitate U.S. GAAP reporting; performing tax calculation in Excel, including Pivot Tables and Access database, and with tax software (CorpTax, or Onesource).
Other: Fluent Japanese language ability required.
