Investment Product Manager U.S. – Grade 17
The US Investment Product team is responsible for successfully developing and executing on investment product offerings across all lines of business in the US. The team leverages the global expertise of Manager Research, Investment Risk Oversight, Public & Private Markets Product and Retirement Platform Development to manage vehicle creation, pricing, platform selection, as well as optimization.
Investment Product Management supports the John Hancock Investments (JHI) U.S. product line through a broad range of investment, marketing and sales-related responsibilities. Investment Product Management bridges the gap between the Manager Research Analysts and the Business Consultants (i.e. Distribution) at JHI with the goal of driving additional sales and assets into the JHI products. This individual contributor will serve as the product expert for our top selling JHI mutual funds and report directly to the Head of Investment Product U.S.
Responsibilities
• Competitive analysis of JHI’s top selling mutual funds and products including analyzing sales and trends within the industry, peers and within financial advisory networks (wirehouses, banks, financial institutions, RIAs).
• Provide investment and product updates and analysis to the sales force and client base by working closely with Manager Research Analysts to research and deliver investment style/process, portfolio strategy and performance updates in a clear and concise manner.
• Own the communication process for major fund events by working closely with the Manager Research Analysts, Marketing and Compliance to create Q&A and other required documents for the sales force.
• Work closely with the sales, national accounts and marketing teams to develop product support materials and sales ideas including the development of presentations, investment insight articles, timely product ideas and thought leadership.
• Present to the sales force during national and divisional sales meetings with the goal of generating more sales within the top selling funds.
• Collaborate closely with Marketing and Compliance to create clear and concise visuals for the sales force to review internally and share with external clients.
• Assist the Product Development team with competitive analysis, peer/client insight, product positioning ideas and overall distribution plan prior to new product launch.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years of investment-related experience. Mutual Fund Product Management, Investment Management or Research experience required.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills required including communicating complicated investment processes in a clear, concise and quick manner.
• Strong investment skills and industry knowledge required.
• Ability to work collaboratively and efficiently with multiple teams to execute.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills necessary
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience required; progress towards MBA and/or CFA preferred
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and complete projects on a timely basis
• Strong PC skills, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word
• Proficiency with industry tools, such as Lipper, Morningstar, Strategic Insights, FactSet, etc. a plus
