Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Accountable to help set the future direction of the US Investment product offering by providing proactive research, insight and innovative solutions that align with the strategic plans of John Hancock/Manulife’s Retail, Institutional, and Retirement channels
• Identify market, industry and competitor trends & assess/communicate how they impact our investment product platform; develop and implement strategic initiatives to benefit from these trends through,
• In depth analysis of market trends that feed into both Retail, Institutional and Retirement channels,
• Tracking the evolving regulatory landscape and developing insights on the implications to our strategic orientation and new market opportunities
• Analyzing the competitive landscape including; customer needs, market sizing and competitive/comparative advantage to alternative solutions
• Fostering a climate of innovation leading to the development of new investment products, new concepts and new product approaches
• Ability to dig deep into a specific product structure or offering to develop strategic business cases for product ideas including; client needs identification, market sizing, competitive
• positioning, product design, financial benefits/costs, distribution strategy and unique risks and present the findings to senior management and potentially the Board of Trustees
• Work closely with key organization stakeholders in Asset Management, Sales, Marketing, Legal, Compliance and Finance
• Accountable to ensure the proper oversight model is established for new WAM US investment product structures
• Partner with Global Product & WAM US counterparts as the voice of the US product team to ensure a consistent coherent product strategy, vision and messaging
• Lead and provide strategic direction on Global Product Initiatives
• Responsible for engaging US, Canadian, Asian and European counterparts of the Global Investment Product team to facilitate dialogue on analysis, trend spotting, market dynamics to develop innovation opportunities
• This role operates in a fast-paced environment and requires a candidate who is a self-starter, is highly motivated, welcomes targets and accountability and is proactive in delivering superior products and service for our customers.
