Job Description:
Reporting to the Head of Investor Relations (the Investor Relations Officer or “IRO”) and working with the investor relations financial analyst, this team member is responsible for collaborating with and supporting the development and execution of the global investor relations program.
Essential Job Duties:
• Helps to manage junior members of the Investor Relations team
• Expected to become primary investor and analyst contact with respect to one of the Company’s issuing entities and provide back up for the others
• Supports the collection and analysis of relative stock price movements, investors' and analysts' perceptions and opinions, and stock ownership
• Oversees and performs research and analysis of industry, peers and competitors’ financial statements, operational statistics and valuation – as well as other ad-hoc analysis as needed
• Collaborates with Communications and Marketing team on strategic communication including financial and M&A press releases, and other media relations
• Provides organization, logistical, and administrative support for investor/analyst conference calls. Collaborates in the preparation of related scripts and practice questions
• Aids in the development, design, writing, production and coordination of investor relations presentations to the financial community, as well as other investor materials including press releases and transaction releases
• Assists the finance and legal team in writing and/or editing parts of financial filings including on SEC forms 8-K, 10-Q, and 10-K
• Oversees logistics and administration for conference calls, webcasts, IR website, analysts’ days, analysts meetings, investor roadshows, the annual meeting of shareholders, and other support duties
• Assist in shareholder questions/issue resolution, as needed
Skills, Education and Experience:
• At least 5 years of experience doing in-house corporate investor relations, treasury, corporate development, competitive intelligence, strategy, or similar positions for a publicly-traded company
• Investment banking or investment research background may also be suitable
• In-house investor relations experience is desirable if it is from the finance angle rather than the PR or marketing angle
• Agency IR experience may be considered for those with a very strong finance or accounting background. This is not a private equity, hedge fund, or capital raising IR position
• Bachelor’s degree required. MBA desirable, but not a pre-requisite. We strongly prefer finance, accounting, or economics majors
• CFA and/or CPA desirable but not required
• Background in Financial Service and/or Commercial Real Estate is preferred
• Prefer someone with a strong knowledge and background of the capital markets
• Outstanding financial and investment analysis skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, superior intellect, and an outstanding ability to communicate, including strong oral and written communication skills, as well as presentation ability
• Must be well versed in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint; Bloomberg Terminal proficiency a plus
