Overview
Manage assigned segments of operations pertaining to incoming cash for Servicing. Assist department head in designing appropriate controls to ensure that all cash items are handled in accordance with stated company policy. Recommend and implement improvement to process, controls and security regarding proper handling and safe guarding of company financial assets. Ensures daily deposits are reconciled MSP postings.
Job Description
• Manages assigned daily cash processing activities, both internally and at lockbox, to ensure timely processing in accordance with PennyMac’s stated policy and procedures.
• Recommends improved methods for controlling security regarding handling of checks and access to the cash room.
• Recommends policy or procedural changes to enhance processing efficiency or compliance with Investors/Company requirements.
• Plans for future growth by leveraging latest technologies to process cash timely and efficiently
• Hire, train and develop key personnel to effectively run operation.
• Prepares executive reports to manage inventory and report on performance of the business unit.
• Controls the work environment to ensure all critical policy/processes are followed.
• Perform other related duties as required and assigned
• Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization’s desired culture and values
Ideal Candidate will have the following:
• Operating or managing a high volume, high quality lockbox.
• Cash handling/processing experience required – preferably with a mortgage company, auto finance, or credit card company.
• Capability to lead a staff and interface effectively with senior leaders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• MSP experience is a plus.
• Must be highly proficient in Excel and Word
• Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and able to work independently
• Proven track record at delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, mathematical skills and sound judgment
• Financial Services and, if possible, mortgage industry experience preferred
• Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management
