The primary role of the Collections Sr. Business Analyst is to perform the analysis, develop and recommend collection and recovery strategies ensuring effectiveness, including optimizing dollars collected and reducing operational costs. The individual will develop the analytics to monitor and report the performance of related strategies as well as recommending any operational, policy or process changes needed to ensure a positive outcome including compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities will include development of standard collection and recovery reports utilized from an operational perspective, strategy and leadership perspective.

Job Description
This position will be responsible for:
Line of Business Support
• Develop champion-challenger collections and debt recovery strategies
• Work with functional partners to deploy tests, collect data, analyze results, and make strategy recommendations
• Establish and maintain effective performance tracking ensuring that strategies are performing as expected and provide recommendations of changes in a timely manner.
• Present findings and recommendations to business partners and senior management
• Support communications regarding collections and debt recovery plans, progress and results
• Work with operations to develop tools and deploy tests of new forbearance offers to support our customers helping them find solutions to resolve delinquency
• Work with internal and external partners to develop and evolve digital methods for collections and debt recovery operations
• Provide input to operational execution, policies and procedures
• Partner with information technology to determine the most efficient methods to implement all strategies across collection and debt recovery.
• Support the development of credit risk and automation of operational reports ensuring accuracy and timeliness’
• Build strong relationships with the Credit Risk Team, Compliance, Information Technology and Operations with the support of quantitative facts.
Risk and Analytics
• Analyze delinquency and loss trends.
• Development of risk-based strategies utilizing SQL, SAS or other relational database software
• Support executed strategies and document applicable results over a period of time
• Identify and implement opportunities for greater efficiencies and risk controls for the portfolio
General Responsibilities
• Ensure the profitable growth of the Installment loan book in Canada and US.
• Manage existing single payment loan portfolios.
• Leverage analytical capabilities in overall decision making and risk identification.
• Support Line of Business reporting requests for operational needs.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
• Bachelor’s Degree required. Master Degree or a PhD is a plus.
EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, related quantitative field, or equivalent and 5 years of experience in a related occupation developing business strategies and performing statistical analysis of risk management utilizing common data; translating analysis into business solutions and utilizing advanced tools and skills such as data mining, SAS, SQL, Tableau, Qlik as well as MsOffice (Word, Excel, Visio).
• Experience in a cross-functional environment working with operations and finance to drive and lead strategic change that impact the bottom line is essential.
SKILLS
• Strong organizational, communication and project management skills.
• Proficient with SAS, SQL or other relational database software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
PROBLEM-SOLVING
• Incumbent should be able to independently analyze the performance of the consumer loan portfolio and make recommendations /put control measures in place.
• Incumbent should be able to forecast loan loss as well as impacts to collection strategy changes deployed providing strategic advice to management.
• Must be able to effectively diagnose and solve problems.
• Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks quickly.
