Information Systems Staff Auditor I
Job Summary
Under the close supervision of IT Audit management and the guidance higher level IT Audit staff, conducts or assists with basic to moderately complex audit projects
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Determines audit scope and assists in developing and writing the audit work program; interviews employees and performs the audit work as developed in the audit program utilizing automated facilities wherever feasible
Evaluates audit reports to verify that all issues have satisfactory responses; analyzes audit results ensuring the effectiveness of internal controls, efficiency of operations, and protection of company assets
Performs thorough reviews of assigned areas including transactions, documents, records, physical assets, applications, databases, IT assets and automated functions, reviewing for accuracy, adequate control, and operational efficiency
Advises Internal Audit management of any events or occurrences which could be construed to be fraud or violation of established laws or statutes; documents audit findings that will be the basis for the final report
Assists with the preparation of draft audit reports for supervisory review, including audit findings and recommendations; participates in closing conferences with management to discuss audit results; may prepare PowerPoint presentations, visuals, graphs, and other materials as requested
Performs special tasks as requested; participates with system development teams as IT internal controls specialist
Travel required approximately 30% of the time
Performs other related duties as required
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, accounting information systems, management information systems, finance, business administration, computer science or a related field and zero to two years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation or working toward one of these designations
Job Knowledge & Skills
Basic knowledge and understanding of COSO Internal Control-Integrated Framework, COBIT framework, NIST frameworks and other IT related regulations
Knowledge of and ability to interpret GAAP, SEC guidance and other federal regulations, and state insurance department statutes
Uses logic and reasoning skills to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively interact with Aflac’s senior management, and internal and external business contact
Exhibits and maintains professionalism in accordance with corporate standards
Experience and proficiency using Microsoft Office software, including intermediate proficiency in Word and intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel; ability to utilize Visio for process mapping
