Section 1: Position Summary
As a Strategic Insight Analyst at Ascensus, you will investigate, review and interpret internal and external data analysis results and market trends to provide informed insights that develop a picture of where the company stands in the industry, where we can improve and how. You will be instrumental in transforming insights into actions to achieve business objectives, drive our brand and position in the marketplace and support growth and other corporate strategies. The position will build and deliver communications and reports using business intelligence (BI) software and other applications to best deliver insights for the respective audiences. You may fulfill other duties in support of overflow needs of the Insights and Analytics team.
Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Research:
◦ Identify, gather and review external sources for comparative analysis on market position and trends
◦ Support Marketing department research needs
◦ Facilitate and contribute to the data mining process ensuring business acumen and data science are combined effectively
• Business Insights:
◦ Interpret research and the team’s analytic results to develop and deliver informative, consumable and valuable communications
◦ A major part of the job is problem solving; determine what data trends mean, how they can benefit Ascensus and deliver data informed recommendations that can drive desired outcomes
◦ Partner with line of business teams to realize benefits inspired by data informed solutions
◦ Collaboratively create value added insights that enhance our thought leadership content and reputation
• .BI tool utilization:
◦ Be a go to expert for self-service BI access instructing and supporting associates
◦ Use tools to improve reporting and communications to best inform
◦ Present, report and communicate insights so they inform the audience effectively
• Analytics Reporting
◦ Maintain delivery and distribution of existing suite of reports
◦ Deliver ad hoc request results when volume requires
• Ascensus Information Security
◦ Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements
• Required skills
◦ Time Management: Ability to juggle multiple large projects, research, scheduled tasks and reporting with competing deadlines.
◦ Excellent analytical skills.
◦ Proven data relationship understanding through prior job experience or education
◦ Excellent oral and written communication skills including active listening. Asking appropriate questions, clarifying information and writing clear, concise documents.
◦ Significant experience and knowledge of business intelligence software applications such as Power BI, Tableau or others.
• Preferred knowledge, skills and abilities:
◦ A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in data analytics, business intelligence or data mining
◦ Bachelor's degree in business, management, marketing, information science or similar.
