Job Description:
At Regions, the Commercial Card Consultant position is within the Treasury Management banking unit and focuses on the acquisition of new commercial card clients within a designated geographic area. This position will engage the commercial relationship and treasury management teams to leverage existing relationships to sell new or convert existing card programs.
The Commercial Card Consultant is responsible for growing interchange income by using a consultative approach for selling Automated Accounts Payable Solutions and card programs. This position will partner with other members of the Commercial Card team and other internal partners to ensure growth and retention strategies and tactics are aligned with revenue goals.
Responsibilities
• Engage Regions Bank treasury teams to maximize sales opportunities to exiting clients. Must possess the ability to build and leverage relationships with internal colleagues and support personnel.
• Engage the client to understand current and future needs to sell solutions that ensure client satisfaction. Leverage internal resources, industry knowledge and personal experience to identify account expansion opportunities. Perform file spend analysis and prepare RFP’s, proposals and presentation materials for prospects and customers.
• Act as subject matter expert for product feature functionality and web-based technology platforms utilized by customers, including our one file product which consolidates multiple payment types into a single electronic file.
• Understand the competition of assigned markets and develop strategic plans for obtaining greater share of market.
• Work with the Implementation and Account Management teams to transition new accounts as they are added to their portfolios. Support account management for rebids and program expansion as needed.
• Actively ensure compliance with Bank's Business Standards of Conduct and all Patriot Act, CIP, Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Secrecy Act, information security and suspicious activity reporting requirements, and other regulatory and compliance policies and procedures. Actively participate in any required corporate and business line Compliance Training.
• More senior sales staff may also act as a coach for the sales team to improve prospecting and closing of business deals in a collaborative manner.
This position is incentive eligible.
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications
• Overnight and day travel required about 50% of the time.
• BA/BS degree or a minimum of four (4) years of work experience in Treasury Management.
• Minimum of five (5) years commercial card sales experience with a proven history of closing profitable deals.
• Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal. Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong presentation skills.
• Superior consulting skills, ability to assess client needs and build strong business cases.
• Proficient PC skills to include Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Self-starter with strong organization skills and the ability to work independently.
• Proven ability to handle multiple priorities, work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly while demonstrating flexibility/adaptability/personal accountability.
• Effective sales cycle development with proven experience in building and managing an effective pipeline of growth opportunities.
