Brand and Content Strategy Summary:
The Brand and Content Strategy group is responsible for managing the external facing brand of Goldman Sachs and creating content that explains our businesses, the work we do for clients, and sharing insights on key trends and themes shaping the global economy. We create content that is distributed across goldmansachs.com, social media, paid media campaigns, and sponsored content hubs, among other platforms. Our team also manages the firm’s presence on social media (Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube) and the GS.com website. We manage marketing for firm recruitment efforts (partnering with Human Capital Management), the philanthropic efforts of the Office of Corporate Engagement (e.g., 10,000 Women, 10,000 Small Businesses), conferences and speaker series, along with agency and outside vendor sourcing. We also manage masterbrand strategy and brand portfolio frameworks, and serve as internal marketing consultants to the different businesses across the firm.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS
Role Summary:
This role will support the co-head of the Brand & Content Strategy team by serving as a marketing consultant for business units across the firm on external marketing and communications activity. The role will partner with stakeholders across the firm to help translate their business objectives into clear marketing briefs, and will lead the development of deliverables including marketing plans, content strategies, naming and visual identity systems, paid media plans and creative assets, and agency selection. In addition, the role will support the Goldman Sachs masterbrand and BCS team strategy, helping to develop, refine, and socialize brand architectures, brand attributes, portfolio frameworks, usage guidelines, and other tools.
Position Responsibilities:
• Collaboratively work with key stakeholders of internal business units across the firm to develop strategic marketing plans to meet brand and divisional communications needs
• Partner with business unit stakeholders to translate divisional goals and challenges into clear marketing briefs, with aligned objectives, audiences, and measurable outcomes
• Lead the development and execution of divisional multi-channel marketing campaigns including:
◦ Development of strategic narratives and positioning statements
◦ Creation of messaging architectures
◦ Definition and segmentation of target audiences
◦ Content strategies and calendars
◦ Go-to-market plans led by digitally focused paid and organic media
◦ Development of web presences
◦ Agency evaluation, selection and onboarding, as needed
• Partner across BCS and Corporate Communications to assemble and lead working groups of channel owners and subject matter experts to deliver integrated marketing solutions
• Help manage the firm’s masterbrand including oversight of the architecture, portfolio strategy, positioning, and brand guidelines
• Manage how the Goldman Sachs brand shows up in the public domain in an environment with increasing appetite to use the brand in new applications and with new partners
• Manage relationship and workflows of multiple external agencies to drive brand strategy, marketing innovation, and flawless creative execution
Required Skills and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 10 years of experience in communications or marketing related role (preferred: business to business)
• Experience managing teams of marketing and/or communications professionals
• Experience managing a brand including an understanding of brand positioning, brand messaging/architecture and brand guidelines
• Experience working with business units or similar internal stakeholders to balance divisional needs with overarching brand strategy and approach
• Strong project manager who is highly organized with excellent attention to detail and follow-through
• Demonstrated focus on client-service and ability to build relationships both internally and externally
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Comfort and ability to present complex material
• Demonstrated client service focus and ability to build relationships both internally and externally
• Collaborative work approach and ability to work well across a dynamic global team
• Experience managing outside agencies; collaborative and responsive partner with knowledge of the dynamic and fast-changing agency landscape
