Description
We are searching for an Assurance & Advisory Services Manager to serve in our Professional Practice Group with a focus on Quality Control and Risk Management. This person will assist and support other Professional Practice Group team members in the evolution of our firm standards and the maintenance of our Quality Control structure.
The ideal candidate should possess a deep audit and accounting technical background and a risk management mindset with a focus on transactional skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline, a strong work ethic, sound business judgment, and effective communication and organizational skills. He or she must work comfortably both independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
• Update and communicate firm assurance and advisory service policies and procedures
• Serve as a point of consultation for engagement team members and/or clients to provide guidance on technical and policy/procedural matters
• Assist and provide direct support with other Professional Practice Group team members in the provision of various risk management functions in the areas of compliance, independence, client acceptance and retention, legal matters, etc.
• Develop and monitor systems involving root cause analysis on material risk items/claims
• Coordinate engagement quality reviews and utilization of subject matter experts
• Participation in the internal monitoring of assurance and consulting engagements
• Responsibility for assisting with the firm’s participation in the PCAOB inspection, peer review, DOL inspection, and other outside regulatory inspections
• Works with the Professional Practice Group team to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of various firm processes and procedures
Qualifications:
• CPA license
• Undergraduate degree in Accounting; Master’s degree desirable
• Minimum 4+ years of public accounting (auditing) experience
• Strong technical background and accounting/auditing research skills; knowledge of audit, accounting, attestation, and ethics standards and regulations promulgated by the FASB, AICPA, GASB, GAO, DOL, SEC, and PCAOB
• Excellent analytical, organizational, writing, analytical, and project management skills
• Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Ability to provide training, mentoring, and leadership to staff in a highly interactive team environment
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities
