As a Program Manager, you will drive the execution of the HR and talent management strategy and manage a portfolio of HR initiatives that span multiple business units and geographies. In this role you will influence cross-functional teams across HR and the business, ensuring effective implementation and a high adoption of new programs, policies and initiatives. You understand communication is one of the key ingredients for success, and therefore you will ensure that all communication within the department are tailored to the different audiences/ stakeholders.
Day to Day:
• Oversee complex, global programs related to culture, wellbeing, recognition, workplace of the future, internal global mobility, succession planning, new hire onboarding, leadership development, etc.
• Ensure elements of program(s) are aligned with the leadership competencies and strategic needs of the business
• Utilize feedback, data and reports to annually analyze and assess effectiveness of the program(s) and implement changes as needed
• Monitor program performance and follow-up with continuous improvements to maximize program effectiveness and ROI
• Develop processes, procedures and tools in cooperation with relevant stakeholders (i.e. Learning, Compensation & Benefits, HR Operations, etc.)
• Understand needs of both employees and business leaders and come up with creative, innovative solutions to changing business circumstances
• Oversee the Global Management Trainee Program/ Leadership Development Program
◦ Partner with recruitment team to source approx. 20 early career high potentials
◦ Manage multiple cohorts of trainees, with approx. 25 direct reports; work with trainees to create and manage performance and IDPs while providing support through regular coaching sessions; utilize feedback from coaching sessions and IDPs to determine proper post-program “landing spot”
◦ Partner with domains/ business units/ corporate functions to identify and select positions for the program
◦ Partner with HR/Business leaders, mentors/coaches, and project supervisors to drive performance and development of trainees, manage monetary incentives of trainees, maintain continued buy-in of program
◦ Plan and organize kick-off and final presentations of action learning projects with participants with leaders
• Oversee the global mobility program
◦ Improve job swap, job sharing, and international assignments to enhance knowledge sharing and provide development experiences to members
• Provide thought leadership and advice to improve the university relations program
◦ Partner with Global TA Manager to develop and execute US and Netherlands university relations strategy, setting up structure to expand globally
◦ Partner with US Talent Acquisition Manager to develop diversity outreach plan
• Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or related field
• 7 years corporate HR experience
• Experience working in a fast paced, globally matrixed organization
• Excellent project management skills ensuring all the teams cooperate effectively and deliver on time and on budget
• Strong leadership skills including the ability to influence without authority
• Ability to influence others and move towards a common vision or goal
• Change management skills and understanding of how people go through the change curve
• Familiarity with project/change management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
• Exceptional communication skills
• Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships (both within a team and with wider stakeholders)
• Ability to work effectively at all levels in an organization
• Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations and under pressure with tight deadlines and quick turnaround time
• Business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges
Preferred qualifications
• Master’s degree in business, human resources or related field
• Project management certification
