JOB INFORMATION
Participate in the execution of procurement activities of low to moderate value/risk in support of multiple business units. Procure basic goods and services, obtain quotes, develop proposals and/or negotiate contracts Interface with suppliers on issues that affect supplier operations. Act as a Procurement representative in front of the internal customer to assist in daily procurement related needs and service. Provide exceptional internal customer service and follow up. Responsible for ensuring that all policies and procedures are adhered to and for ensuring that appropriate documentation exists for all procurement and supplier management activities.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS
• Procure goods and services, develop proposals, and/or negotiate contracts of low to moderate complexity. On higher risk contracts, may work under the direction of more senior representatives.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data, and help develop strategies to drive performance improvements, innovation, savings, and mitigate risks.
• Assist management, peers, suppliers and internal clients in understanding established procurement policies and procedures, while providing customer satisfaction through measurable results.
• Continually assess market conditions for potential opportunities and risks, and utilize industry understanding to bring forth innovative solutions.
• Communicate / negotiate on in a proactive manner to effectively avoid or resolve issues and problems.
• Establish, execute and track project plans, utilizing fundamental project management techniques.
• Incorporate diverse spend strategies as appropriate.
• Manage procurement records and data, responsible for data quality and maintenance.
• Identify potential risk through knowledge of and adherence to procurement processes and policies
• May represent Fannie Mae at external events.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
• 2+ years of related experience
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• Sourcing Experience
• Buying Experience
• eSourcing Tool Experience
• Basic Contracting Knowledge
• Intermediate Level Microsoft Word and Excel Capabilities
