Investment Operations & Systems
The Investment Operations & Systems organization is part of PGIM Ops & Systems and provides recordkeeping, accounting, reporting and technology services for the investment portfolios supporting the Insurance Companies. Additionally, we support all investment data for the Chief Investment Officer and the Chief Risk officer for Prudential.
The Derivatives Accounting & Reporting team within the Regulatory Reporting Unit in the Investment Ops & Systems Organization is looking for a Senior Investment Operations Associate. You would be responsible for providing accounting, financial reporting, and recordkeeping support for Prudential and its subsidiaries. The financial reporting is performed on a Statutory and GAAP basis and you will specifically support the Derivatives asset type.
Your Role on the Derivatives Accounting & Reporting Team
Includes reconciling, reporting, and analyzing Derivative positions and transactions by utilizing PAM, Investment Accounting sub-ledger system, and the General Ledger (Oracle). Your role is accountable for the application of accounting rules and practices as appropriate for the various portfolios and asset types. While we expect you to work independently on general assignments, you will also work under the direction of senior staff or manager on complex projects and analysis.
You will be Responsible for:
• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual Statutory and GAAP based reports utilized in the firm’s regulatory filings
• Completing quarterly and annual Statutory Schedule DB and associated schedules and footnotes
• Completing quarterly and annual GAAP Supplementals related to Derivatives under tight time constraints
• Providing quarterly GAAP cashflow rollforward details to the business units to assist in their completion of the Cashflow Supplemental
• Reviewing prior day transactions in the sub ledger system, PAM, for accuracy
• Monitoring and reconciling daily collateral movements related to derivatives
• Responding to annual Surveys from external rating agencies i.e., Moody’s, S&P and AM Best
• Preparing and reviewing monthly reconciliations for asset and income accounts
• Documenting and executing procedures for any new reporting requirements pertaining to Derivatives
• Completing various ad-hoc requests and special projects that are received from internal clients and business partners
• Supporting internal and external audits
Qualifications
Does this sound like you?
• Do you have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting/ Business or equivalent work experience
• Do you possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Can you demonstrate intermediate or advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Do you have knowledge of GAAP and Statutory investment accounting
• If you have experience with Oracle General Ledger, it would be considered a plus
• If you have experience with PAM Investment Accounting system, it would be considered a plus
• Do you possess strong leadership and organizational skills
• Are you self-motivated and proactive, with good communication and time management skills.
• Can you demonstrate the ability to deliver high quality results
• Do you have the ability to work with a team as well as independently
• Are you available to work overtime during peak periods
