Description
Position Title:Loan Processor - Documentation/Check-In/Boarding
Department:Loan Origination Operations
Grade: 8, 9
Position Summary:A member of the loan documentation/check-in/boarding team may complete a variety of the following functions while meeting department turnaround time and service commitments: The Documentation Processor primarily reviews loan requests and prepares loan documents from the information provided on the requests. The Check-In Processor primarily reviews signed loan packages and prepares the completed file for boarding. The Boarding Processor primarily boards consumer, commercial and real estate loan records onto the AS 400. In addition, the Processors perform a variety of clerical and other duties related to loan production.
Major Responsibilities:
• Provides exceptional customer service to branch personnel and outside customers.
• Prepares and edits loan documents and reviews documents for accuracy.
• Prepares and sends Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA) information on loans requiring RESPA disclosures.
• Maintains a basic understanding of entities and commercial collateral types.
• Reviews signed loan documents, completes file, and performs a compliance check of both new loans and change in terms according to bank guidelines.
• Accurately funds loans.
• Prepares loan files for boarding.
• Boards consumer and real estate loans primarily using the database boarding program.
• Boards commercial loans, loan modification and leases onto the AS400.
• Maintains edit process within one week of boarding.
Other Responsibilities:
• Answers phone inquiries from branches.
• Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
• Performs duties of other loan processors in their absence.
• Maintains a current understanding of established Tri Counties Bank policies and procedures as well as regulations including but not limited to Truth in Lending (Reg Z), Flood Disaster Protection Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, (Reg B), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (Reg C), Unfair Deceptive or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP), Real Estate Appraisal regulations, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (Reg X), California High-cost Loan Law, Customer Identification Program (CIP), California Housing Financial Discrimination Act and Cosigner Notice Regulations.
Education, Experience, And Other Skills Required:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Good organizational skills to accommodate involvement in multiple areas.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to utilize personal computers and Windows driven programs.
Grade Level Distinction:
• Grade 8 - 1 year of experience loan processing or equivalent work experience.
• Grade 9 - 2 to 3 years’ experience with Tri Counties Bank processing loans or equivalent experience. Proficient in multiple job responsibilities entailing both consumer and commercial loans. Complete understanding of loan processing procedures. Ability to solve problems independently and to complete a high volume of work with accuracy. Understanding of Tri Counties Bank policies and procedures.
