At CoBank, our Event Marketing Specialist assists with the planning and execution of events within CoBank’s event marketing program. Specialist assists with and performs a number of key functions, including scheduling, hotel and vendor contracting, menu and entertainment planning, tracking and analysis of customer-satisfaction surveys, customer service related to events, and on-site hotel and vendor management. Specialist coordinates shipping logistics related to event materials and coordinates collection and reporting of event evaluation and attendance data. Event Marketing Specialist Interfaces extensively with CoBank management and assists in the preparation of budgets and reports as necessary.
Basic Qualifications
• 3-5 years relevant event marketing/planning experience in a corporate, agency or nonprofit environment or appropriate equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to lift and move boxes and other packages up to 50 pounds.
• Travel required (20 percent of time estimated average, though can go higher at certain times of year).
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Hospitality, Marketing or Communications preferred
• CMP certification preferred
• Strong organizational and project management skills with budget competency.
• Must be highly detail oriented.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to interact and effectively communicate with customers and bank management.
• Proficient in contract negotiations with hotels, vendors and destination management companies.
• Excellent customer service ethic and ability to meet high expectations for quality and service.
• Intermediate ability to use Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to manage on-site events, including ability to make decisions and solve problems related to vendor management and both customer and bank management requests.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service and to respond to internal and external customer questions related to the department and meetings.
• Advanced ability to organize and prioritize, and to manage multiple projects simultaneously with limited supervision.
