Job Description:
This is a mission-critical role within the Discover Phoenix COE Card Fraud Strategy team. This role will lead all analytical tasks related to operations efficiency, cross-channel customer experience and fraud loss metrics. Act as a subject matter expert in all data related topics in Fraud, Authorization, FCMS rules and cases, and Multi-Channel analytics.
◦ Lead all analytical tasks related to operations efficiency, cross-channel customer experience and fraud loss metrics. Act as a subject matter expert in all data related topics in Fraud, Authorization, FCMS rules and cases, and Multi-Channel analytics
◦ Support all first line of defense projects in an effort to manage operational and regulatory compliance. Architect process engineering framework to lower operational errors while achieving optimization. Make recommendations to improve process or functionality with a minimum impact to resources
◦ Conduct analysis of customer contacts across multiple 1 way and 2 way channels. Build contact strategies aimed at improving customer experience, achieving optimum number of contacts per resolution while reducing cost of operations and fraud losses
◦ Leverage statistical and analytical tools extensively including SAS, SQL, Tableau, Miner to predict customers preferred/best contact channel for fraud event resolution
◦ Manage the relationships with business partners and ensure that modeling or strategy projects are delivered in a timely manner.
◦ Use quantitative analytical skills and tools for data preparation, including sampling, data pulling, aggregation, and other data preparation treatments.
◦ Perform simulations and general ad-hoc analyses to provide insights for strategy design, evaluation and testing.
◦ Communicate and present project results to business partners and management.
◦ Work closely with both internal and external audit teams as required.
◦ Maintain a high level of expertise in statistical and analytical principles, tools and techniques
Promote a risk-aware culture; ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.

Skills:
◦ MS in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, and other quantitative fields OR BS in these fields with 1-2 years of applicable work experience.
◦ Strong computer skills, experience with statistical software and other analytical tools
◦ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
◦ Proven problem solving and decision making skills
◦ Financial industry experience
◦ Project management experience in a high-profile, deadline-driven environment,
◦ Three to five years of financial industry experience
◦ Strong computer skills, experience with statistical software and other analytical tools
