As a Senior Director Compensation, you’ll play an important role in building and driving the Global Compensation strategy for Encore Capital Group while creating a solid operating framework that enables the company to grow domestically and internationally in a highly efficient and effective manner. The Senior Director Compensation will ensure that compensation programs are competitive, sustainable, scalable and have an impact on the long and short-term performance of the organization. This leader will be responsible for building a strong team that delivers high quality work to the Board of Directors, executive leadership and all employees across the organization. Your key responsibilities will include:
• Leading the Compensation team as a Center of Excellence for Encore Capital Group and its subsidiaries, offering oversight and best practices globally, keeping abreast of compensation and benefits trends across the globe. Leading the realization, design, implementation and communication of a Compensation strategy for Encore's largest entity, Midland Credit Management, Inc.
• Working effectively with the Board of Directors, executive leadership, management, employees, and vendors to build market-competitive global compensation programs which enable the attraction and retention of talent.
• Managing the global compensation team for domestic and international compensation strategies and programs including Sales, Executive and Broad-Based plans. Leading and developing a highly-skilled team that can scale for growth.
• Ensuring process efficiency, data integrity and the use of automation to create a solid, easy-to-do business with operating system and process framework. Manages and effectively executes deliverables in a fast paced, high growth, global environment.
• Understanding and complying with all applicable laws and regulations in the states and countries in which the company operates. Ensuring that all programs, plans and policies meet appropriate compliance standards. Leading the due diligence and integration of compensation programs for acquisitions.
• Serving as both a member of and key contributor to the Global HR Leadership Team, including supporting broader human resources initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you’ll have:
• Ability to identify appropriate Human Resources responses to business needs
• Strategic business focus including ability to read and analyze financial plans and statements.
• Survey participation experience, including executive surveys
• Strong knowledge of labor, pay laws, regulations
• Proxy analysis, job analysis, job evaluation (market-based, job content, job slotting)
• Previous base pay program design; incentive pay program design (STI and LTI) and cost impact analysis
• Experience in comp analysis; consulting (Big 4) experience highly desired
In addition, you will need:
• Bachelor's degree; Master’s preferred
◦ Human Resources, Business, Finance, Accounting or related field preferred
• Experience working for a public company
• Experience presenting to Board of Directors and leading Committee sessions
• 10+ years progressive HR management experience
• Proficient with MS Office, including advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• SPHR or SHRM-SCP, CCP a plus
