Job Description
• Ensures that Digital Channels' web and mobile assets are in accordance with TD's Accessibility Standards, legal requirements and aligned to industry accessibility best practices
• Supports web and native mobile project teams with accessibility subject matter expertise
• Identifies accessibility issues in design, content or code, and propose solutions
• Reviews wireframes to identify accessibility issues, identify patterns and alternate text requirements
• Assesses user impact of accessibility conformance issues
• Develops, educates and socializes accessibility best practices within Digital and ensure that they are firmly embedded in all processes and workflows
• Ensures alignment between the many projects, teams, and vendors creating digital experiences
• Manages stakeholder expectations on the scope of support and delivery timelines. Communicate significant changes to agreed timelines in advance
• Champions accessibility and inclusive design across TD
• Reviews vendor accessibility claims including VPATs
• Summarizes potential accessibility issues for non-specialists
Job Requirements
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 2 + years of experience in digital accessibility.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and techniques to meet WCAG for web, mobile and documentation.
• Demonstrated understanding of how accessibility requirements or best practices enable or improve access to digital content for People with Disabilities.
• Expert-level skills at performing accessibility assessments, documenting results and reporting findings.
• Experience interpreting automated accessibility syntax scans.
• Working knowledge of HTML, scripting languages and coding techniques.
• Proficiency with multiple assistive technologies, including desktop and mobile screen readers.
• Strong knowledge of WAI-ARIA, including best practices and patterns.
• Able to coach and train designers, developers and QA engineers
• Experience with Quality Assurance defect triage and assigning defect severity.
• Effective communicator. Able to summarize and explain digital accessibility topics to non-specialists.
• Able to support a variety of project styles including Agile, Waterfall and hybrid approaches.
• Robust organizational and time-management skills; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple deadlines and priorities.
Must be eligible for employment under regulatory standards applicable to the position.
