Technical Specialist – Surface Drills

The product offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.
Key performance areas
As the Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for providing quality technical support to the service network on proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting practices. This position will be required to work closely and support end users, opera
tors, and service personnel in cases of complex technical issues while working in a safe manner.
The Technical Specialist will:
• Inspect equipment for proper performance and determine faults and malfunctions
• Adjust equipment and repair/defective part components or systems per scopes of work
• Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, and parts lists
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives by being up to date with industry, customer, product development and technical best practices
• Provide relevant feedback to factories to enable improvements on equipment or operation
• Conform to ISO standards, along with current Sandvik, Customer, State, and Federal regulatory safety policies
• Identify and report any unsafe work habits
This role is responsible for the Mid-West Region
A varied shift is necessary for this role. Travel of 50-70% is expected.
Your profile
The Technical Specialist must possess a technical certification or diploma in mechanical or electrical fields, along with 5 years of related experience with industry-specific equipment and aspects of technical trades. You must have extensive knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems.

You are able to read and interpret equipment schematics to facilitate training and impart detailed information to your customers.
