The Role
The Sr. Sales Compensation Consultant will provide subject matter expertise and direction on complex projects/initiatives for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility. This position will be required to design and model and analyze sales compensation programs, policies and procedures and perform and communicate detailed and thorough analysis of the sales compensation plans to ensure alignment with strategic financial objectives and desired business results throughout the year.
Responsibilities
• Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
• Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiatives within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Identifies and directs the implementation of process improvements that significantly improve quality across the team, department and/or business unit for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Provides advice & consultation to key stakeholders s) on sales compensation programs & pay-related issues to ensure all parties have a full understanding of the organization's compensation strategies & pay philosophy.
• Maintains current knowledge of sales compensation developments and trends, assess the impact, and ensures that new trends/developments are appropriately incorporated into sales compensation initiatives.
• Conducts analyses to assess internal equity and external market competitiveness of sales compensation plans to attract and retain key talent recommending design enhancements where necessary.
• Develop, implements and executes sales compensation communication plans for area(s) of responsibilities. Conducts training for assigned client group(s) on compensation programs as needed.
• Supports and enhances departmental organizational capability by sharing sales compensation expertise with key stakeholders of the enterprise and the lines of business.
• Lead the planning, design, modeling and analysis of the sales and sales compensation plans and processes.
• Designs and/or revises the various sales compensation processes to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce costs.
• Designs and develops financial models and analysis to evaluate existing and proposed sales compensation programs.
• Ensures sales compensation programs are compliant with internal policies and external regulations.
• Performs monthly/quarterly analyses and forecasting to access current plan performance.
• Provides subject matter expertise to team members and applicable internal/external stakeholders on complex assignments/projects for his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Provides direction on complex assignments, projects, and/or initiatives to build and enhance the capability of his/her assigned area(s) of responsibility.
Education
• Undergraduate degree or 4+ years of comparable work experience
• MBA Preferred
Experience
• 5 – 7+ Years of progressively more responsible experience in compensation, total rewards, compensation financial analytics, and/or compensation consulting, including demonstrated solid experience and understanding of compensation practices and processes.
• Experience using Tableau or other analytical modeling software preferred
• Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions and presentations
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret both internal and external documents such as general media/publications, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, policies, proposals, and standard operating procedures.
• Ability to analyze information and to evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution.
• Demonstrates the ability to use sound judgment and discretion regarding confidential information.
• Demonstrates excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task while maintaining strict attention to detail.
• Strong project management skills including, critical ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
• Successfully completes regulatory and job training requirements.
