Job Description
Position Description
The role will lead part of the Accounting/Finance team on the Ally Advantage Project and upon successful completion of responsibilities will rotate to Controllers Division upon Retail Go-Live
Job Responsibilities
• Lead team of four to support Advantage Retail Testing through remaining planning activities and execution of L4 testing and responsible for specialized testing for Cash, Intercompany, Suspense & Clearing and General Ledger Matrix testing
• Manage resources to program timelines and work to overcome obstacles to ensure deadlines are met
• Ability to ensure accuracy and integrity of testing is complete, accurate and satisfies Stakeholders
• Ability to understand current state accounting and link accounting practices to their future equivalent and gain Stakeholder approval
• Support deliverables in the Go/No-Go Document to ensure "Go" vote on all applicable items under area of responsibility 2 months prior to Go-Live
• Ensure key stakeholders experience a seamless transition for their processes
• Assist with deployment activities including readiness training for various stakeholders within the CFO organization
• Liaise with key stakeholders and other functional areas, such as other Finance teams, Operations, and IT
• Continuously identify business process improvements
• Participate in other project related work and adhoc analyses
Qualifications
• BS/BBA degree in Accounting required
• 4-6 Years of relevant experience (accounting/projects), CPA or equivalent auto finance accounting and systems expertise
• Supervisory/Management experience
• Working knowledge and appreciation of month-end financial close and internal reporting processes
• Working knowledge and appreciation of auto finance servicing/accounting system and translation to financial statements
• Project/System Implementation experience
• SAP experience a plus
• Auto Finance industry experience a plus
• Proficient MS Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.) preferred
• ALFA software experience a plus
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong ability to work with cross-functional teams
• Attention to detail balanced with knowing the right level necessary to deliver on requirements
• Proven track record of driving for results with minimal ongoing direction
• Energetic and inquisitive, quick learner, takes initiative, team player
• Ability to support change and process improvements
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal
• Ability to perform independent analysis and provide explanations to management
