Position Overview: Contributes to Aegon AM US’ efforts to raise and retain assets through the development and constant improvement of marketing literature and its delivery to target audiences.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with portfolio managers, sales/distribution, and product management to create new marketing literature communications for all product stages (i.e., new product launches, targeted product campaigns, and retention efforts) and distribution platforms (institutional, retail sub-advisory, and international partnerships).
• Oversee the delivery of existing marketing materials for assigned products, including presentations, fact sheets, positioning documents, commentaries, web content, emails, RFPs, thought leadership, talking points, media releases and events. Ensure consistency of the marketing messaging across all external communications.
• Participate in thought leadership idea generation and content development.
• Develop and manage marketing campaigns. Track, measure and report campaign results.
• Work with PMs and product team to develop product positioning. Ensure positioning is reflected across all of the strategy’s marketing literature, RFP/DDQ responses, and databases.
• Provide product and competitive market intelligence.
• Develop marketing plans based on firm priorities, sales force needs and client demand.
• Ensure content on website and content management system is current.
• Set timelines for materials and maintain a product status report.
• Engage and direct financial writer, graphic artist and, if needed, agencies to complete projects.
• Serve as backup for RFP production and other marketing team members, as needed.
• Work with AAM US Head of Marketing to plan and execute strategic marketing initiatives for assigned investment strategies.
• Maintain effective working relationships with sales management, portfolio management, product management, compliance and operations.
• Understand the investment process, strategy, and positioning of AAM US’ product suite for assigned investment strategies and be knowledgeable about the markets in which they invest.
• Be familiar with the target audience to which the assigned AAM US strategies are marketed.
• Research and proactively develop new marketing ideas.
• Ensure marketing materials meet corporate brand and compliance standards.
• May supervise or lead staff; assist in training and mentoring of staff members.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, journalism, communications or relevant field.
• Five to seven years of asset management marketing or related experience.
• Experience executing multifaceted marketing projects.
• Communication skills to lead marketing efforts and build relationships with team members and business groups.
• Analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• MBA or CFA
