The Payment Media Specialist is primarily responsible for daily payment postings, processing autodraft information, BiSaver (BiWeekly payment program) information, balancing daily posting batches, researching posting errors, and provides assistance to external and internal customers regarding all payment media inquiries.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Posting large volumes of daily mortgage payments to loan accounts via different media forms such as personal checks, internal and external automated software systems and ensuring posting accuracy at all times. Posting of loan payoff funds requiring tight timeframes and accuracy. Clearing lockbox rejects; internal specialized postings and balancing daily posting batches.
2. Processing all aspects of the biweekly payment program known as Bisaver; to include adds, deletes, and changes to the BiSaver information on the servicing system and the BiSaver sub-system as requested via written requests from customers; processes the Bisaver transmission file and downloads on a specific time schedule; provides direct telephone customer service support regarding Bisaver such as problem resolution, payment changes, program suspension, reinstatements, bank account changes, and changes from biweekly to semi-monthly.
3. Processes customer service inquiries; provides research and makes corrections regarding lost payments and misapplications received from various departments.
4. Processing payment returned items to include customer checks, payoff checks, ACH, Bi-Saver, and Online Bill payment. Requires reversal of initial payment credit to loan, generate correspondence to the customer, balancing processing batch. Additional functions required to complete Bisaver returned items.
5. Requires posting reconciliation and balancing to various reports, vendor deposit credits and individual posting batches.
6. Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor; provides general support functions to department; works on special projects as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
• General knowledge of accounting principles; good reconciliation skills
• Working knowledge of PC’s; good software skills to include windows and Microsoft office products
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent 10 key skills by touch
• Good math skills; ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide
• Good communication skills, both oral and written
This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of high school and 2-3 years general office experience with at least 1 year general accounting experience or equivalent work related experience.
