SUMMARY
Provides support in the management of programs that enhance SWBC's reputation within the communities where SWBC has local operations; and supports the company's national and local partnerships with not-for-profit organizations, governmental, and industry groups by assisting in communication plans for company initiatives and attending events.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Provides assistance to the Community Involvement Committee, Wellness Committee, SWBC Cares, Emerging Professionals, and other company volunteer initiatives that support SWBC's focus areas.
• Assists in coordinating and facilitating all forms of SWBC community relations.
• Maintains social media; and provides content for Connect, 3Sixty, and other corporate communication pieces.
• Attends a large portion of community events in San Antonio and in other markets, on occasion, to represent the company in community outreach programs and public awareness campaigns.
• Assists with SWBC's involvement in local, state, and national political arenas; and supports activities of selected political candidates as determined by senior management and SWBC Political Action Committee Board.
• Oversees SWBC employee volunteer efforts, Trade/Business/Civic memberships, and Board and Committee participation.
• Assists in SWBC Political Action Committee activities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Governmental, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
• Must have at least three (3) years progressive experience in a public relations or community relations role, or related experience, preferably within a financial services environment.
• Must have strong knowledge and understanding of planning, implementing and evaluating outreach/communication projects.
• Must have working knowledge of web development, multi-media, social media, and graphic layout and design.
• Must have strong planning, organization, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
• Must have proficiency in communication writing and editing skills, and must be comfortable writing varying lengths of content in an engaging writing style.
• Must have strong knowledge of grammar and style standards.
• Must have solid knowledge of web content best practices, including SEO optimization and social media marketing.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills, verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to speak in public.
• Must have excellent and organizational skills.
• Must have proficient working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Photoshop.
• Must have working knowledge of multiple major social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Blogging, etc.).
• Must have knowledgeable about basic office equipment including a copy machine, fax, and all appropriate printers.
• Must have a current Texas driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule to accommodate scheduling appointments with prospective community leaders/organizations, and to participate in marketing and community events.
• Must be able to maintain a neat, clean and professional appearance at all times.
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time while performing essential duties.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time while attending outreach activities or similar events.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and/or kneel to lift 10-20 lbs. of files, marketing materials, or other documents.
• Must be able to travel locally, state-wide, or nationally.
